@BeaIank is the NES classic legal for the weekly contest out of curiosity?

This isn't the first time this game has appeared in the contests so I've played it a bunch before. You can hold the B button to flap continuously.
My problem is probably more that I have no patience to try and play all week to improve my score. I just like the weekly contest because it gets me to play all the games that I never play. I don’t mind coming in last haha

9/10 it’s just fun as hell to play. NHL Hitz is a great time too

I reached phase 16 but I fucked up a couple bonus rounds so my score is lower than Gaia's.
I played the game but I suck something fierce so my score is lower than everyone’s

Bumping this for less than two weeks away! I’m flying in Friday night and I’m gonna pick up my pass Friday night hopefully and wander around. I got the VIG pass so I can get in early Saturday and wander the vendor hall

My speed of buying things has slowed down dramatically as well. Once I completed the full sets I was after the mailman was probably happy to not have to come to my door every day with 2-3 packages at a time. Now I’m lucky if I get anything new every week. I’m definitely buying more quality as well, I am over buying filler games to just complete a set. I’ve really been focusing on NES homebrew for some reason but did also just add Fire Emblem for GameCube as well. It’s really fun not just slagging through a set and buying whatever tickles your fancy. I’m excited to wander the vendor area at MGC in a couple weeks and see what catches my eye. I’ve got a couple things on a list but nothing crazy price wise.

Ok so by happenstance I needed new NES box protectors and ordered 25 from both Video Game Box Protectors and Retro Protection. I’ve been buying from VGBP for years and I was shocked to learn, in my opinion of course, the Retro Protection ones are better. Last I checked they are exactly the same price but the RP protectors are slightly thicker and feel more sturdy. I’m in shock over here

I was playing SMB3 on GBA for fun today and no joke died at least 10x on the stupid world 2 quicksand by the sun. I’m rusty as hell on SMB3

I appreciate the response, yeah it's pretty ridiculous how much the upsell is. I've had a watch on the pocket for many months and it's still out of stock, you're probably right I'll just keep waiting. Not going to settle for a scalper on ebay otherwise they will keep taking product from people who literally just want to use it to play games..
they have been pretty good about keeping stock on pockets but it stinks that they are sold out again. They do charge a bunch for shipping also, but even with the added cost it’s still a superior product. If you were building the FPGBC yourself and had a donor the $85 for parts would be a no brainer if GB/GBC games were all you wanted to play but at near $200 for someone to do it for you…well Pocket is the way to go

It’s not even the value really. 100k for a very nice sealed copy of that big of a name? Sure, why not. As a mostly NES collector I’m just opining bygone days when NES discussion was about something other than how much cash sealed collectors are throwing around or which print run something is. That noob thread got me reminiscing. Remember how dramatic and exciting the Atwood saga was?
I like how numb we have become to the amount being spent on a video game. Like $100k yeah whatever lmao

Here is a dude on Etsy who makes them with good reviews but be aware the parts on FunnyPlaying are less than $85 with free shipping so he is charging quite a bit for maybe 30 minutes worth of work. I do not know this person or vouching for them, just going off the reviews on Etsy.
https://www.etsy.com/listing/1675571388/made-to-order-nintendo-gameboy-color?gpla=1&gao=1&
Id also suggest looking up reviews for this against the Analogue Pocket. If I was going to pay $179 for this I’d sure as shit spend the extra $50 to get a far superior product.

Until its discovered what those 2 digits actually mean, I wouldn't put too much credence into it. I suppose it could be some factory indicator, but thats just speculation.
I think most people agree it’s a QA stamp which would identify where exactly it was manufactured in case of defects or like you said a factory indicator. Im not sure if this is still up for debate or not though.

Beautiful --
Question, the people who make the 8-bit Xmas series are here on VGS is that right? I have a question I'd like to ask them, so if someone could put me in touch I would appreciate it, thanks
Check for contact info on the site: https://www.retrousb.com - I don’t think he comes around here anymore so that might be your best bet.

Thanks to @fsped09 for the hookup on the 8bit Xmas boxes that I didn’t have. The aesthetics of this pleases me greatly!!

This thread should be cleaned up imo. I don't think the whole TG16 rant was necessary, any sort of drama like that (or the NA drama) should be left in the past. At the end of the day, it's just one side of the story being shown.
So like every single thread gets derailed into the abyss but this one has to be cleaned up?

Seeing this an adult makes me question how this was a kids show lol I definitely loved it as a kid though
What are you currently playing?

Red Dead Redemption on Switch. I have it for other consoles but I thought it would be neat to replay it and be able to bring it with me to MGC to play during flights.
