I believe it was a beveled skinny wood shelf.  They could slide in from the side so it wouldn't damage the cart and they wouldn't fall out. 

If memory serves me correctly that user was "Mr. Nintendo".  He was/is a cool dude, from Alaska I believe, it's been years since I talked to him.  He had rows and rows of Game Boy carts on his attic ceiling with custom built shelves.

The Switch Library, now bigger than the Wii's with no sign of slowing down.  Also Nintendo's biggest North American Library.  Crazy!

I made the mistake of starting Stardew Valley again.  Had probably 130 plus hours into it a few years back.  My kids deleted my farm and I wanted to try the content from the latest update, so here I am.  Probably 15 hours into this new farm.  I noticed I'm way the hell more efficient with everything the 2nd time around.

If you search "wet phone rescue pouch" on amazon you'll find a pouch that made to dry out electronics.  My wife used it on her phone and it worked well.  Worth a shot for your DS.  Now if your DS was on during that time then it might be fried.  Worth a try though.

N64 for such a great party system.  I remember my buddies coming to my house directly after school, we were teenagers and not a great deal of responsibilities.  Ended up playing a ton of Goldeneye, Mario Kart and the first Mario Party which tore up our hands.     

I came across the thread where a guy sold his loose (with custom cases) N64 set on ebay for $30,000.  That made me think about when I completed my set in 2010-2011.  It was the one set that I kept track of all my purchases.  I've long since sold the set, but figured it would be interesting to look back at prices and cry.  Finding these games were a good mix.  A small handful I picked up new in the 90's.  I don't know if its fair, but those are marked as $0.  Some from ebay, NintendoAge (marked NA on spreadsheet), garage sales, ect.  Best pick up was September of 2010 at a flee market.  Guy had a box full of N64 games, 44 in total.  He wanted the low price of $30 bucks for the box.  Blew my mind even back then.

This makes me think about a old sale on Nintendoage probably sometime around 2012/2013 a guy was selling his CIB N64 set (missing the boxes/instructions on a couple of the high ends).  I think he wanted $2300 for the set, something like that.  He sold it after two or three weeks on the market.  Where's my time machine?

Yeah I agree.  My thoughts is, if you wanted to keep it simple for game series awards, then you have a list of games required for the award and start a thread where people can post pics of their series set.  Someone would have to see if the person qualifies for the award and then add to there account.  Once you have the award you keep, doesn't matter if more games come out your grandfathered in.  

If you wanted to start with a say just four series to keep it small, I'd suggest Mario, Zelda, Metroid and Kirby.  Could expand latter with others if all goes well (Pokemon, Sonic, Resident Evil, Wario, Castlevania, ect.) 

To keep the list simple, I'd say keep it to a fairly minimum representation.  As in the list doesn't count compilations, remakes (unless substantially different), later ports, ect.  Just one of each title.  Basically just the first-ish release of that game.  Here's my example for those four series:

 

Also, I'll post some of the icons we had at Nintendoage (just as an example). It seems like we can make better and more detailed charms here.  



I like the basic idea of these, but I think the Kirby one would be better if it was all pink and just Kirby's face, ha.

Okay, so I found my write up from 2013 on the Nintendoage Game Series Awards.  The general idea is the badge/charm is awarded by having all the main titles of the series.  The spirit of it is having the complete "set" and obtaining the original releases (with some leeway) not counting later ports (unless sustainably different) or compilations (for example Mega Man Collection for Switch would not replace the need to have the original NES releases, but also would not be needed for the set).

Basically, post a picture of the games on the list and receive the badge.   I'll post my old Nintendoage write up here:



Rules for "Game Series" awards

Qualifications and rules for the Game Series Awards are as follows: 

What is and isn't on the series lists and why

- NA releases only for what games are considered for the list.
- So our Europe members aren't left out, PAL counterparts are OK for the completion of game series sets.
- Does not have to be CIB.  Loose is OK.
- Looking for original or close to original releases. Ports or variants within a couple years are OK.
- Compilations and collections are not part of the list and can't be substituted for individual titles.
- Re-releases in the form of Players Choice, Greatest Hits, etc. are OK.
- DLC, cell phone games are not part of the list. 
- Only one console version is fine. (As in you don't need both PS3 and X360 versions.)
- Some games have the same title. Example: Mega Man for NES and Mega Man for Gamegear. If they are both on the list it means they are different enough to be considered unique titles. 
- List will be updated as needed. Please note that once a member has an Award, they get to keep it. Unless they sell off their collection or want their Award removed. 
- If this seem to confusing, please just refer to the lists below for which games are required. 

Examples of the Game Series List. (Last time I updated this was 2013, so it's super outdated, probably not perfect, but just to get a general idea).

 

Just a thought, we can change as we see fit, but could be a good base for the awards.  I also don't mind updating these lists with the new releases.  Deciding what goes on the list or doesn't is tough with all these series.  The main thing to keep it fair, is that we all go off the same list.

They are nearing the completion of the Smash Bros Amiibo Set (now that they've announced all the fighters).  So there could be a Smash Bros Amiibo set once those are released.  

Also, for Game Series Awards, I ran the thread on Nintendo Age for many years.  I'm pretty sure I still have my "qualifications" write up somewhere.  If I can find it, I'll post it.  Might be a good starting template at the very least.  I have lots of thoughts on it and would love to see some of the game series get an award.
