I had the 2X pro, sold it, and purchased the 5X pro. Even if you don't need RGB and scart, the extra filters and options are still worth getting the 5X.
For Homebrew:
Here are some suggestions below, though note that homebrew is mostly sold through publishers rather than a centralized storefront.
Additionally / Alternatively check out a thread that @Scrobinsruns with links to purchase games based on title, many are sold direct from developer.
Homebrew Publishers:
RetroUSB
6502 collective
Mega Cat Studios
Broke Studio
Infinite NES Lives
Currently playing Little Samson. I am towards the very end at the floating castles. To be frank, I haven't enjoyed it as much as I thought I would, given the genre of game and the hype this title receives. A similar game, that I actually really love, Bucky O'Hare, blows this one out of the water IMO.
Yes, but it is pre-order and they are shipping in sequence of order number. Ordering today, you will get it in 2023.

It was very hard to make a top 10. Honestly it changes all the time, so many good NES homebrews to discover.
I listened to it on audible and finished it a few days ago. I enjoyed it very much. It had a lot of good business advice, pairing his personal experience with take aways. He called these "so what's" as in the main point or purpose of each story he was sharing.
He also went into detail about what a back and forth exchange was regarding a decision he was pushing for where other parties did not agree with him at first. I found this useful because it laid out the steps and language used.
