  1. Long time since I last updated and damn I've been busy! Garage sales season is started and I've scored big in the past weeks. Here are what I got from the last 3 week ends: ^ These I got in 2 major lots: I got the Ps2 stuff from an old lady and it seems this was hers. I went early and she hadn't got the games out yet when I asked. She told me she had Ps2 so I expected mostly sports games and sudoku with maybe a Ratchet game. I flipped when I saw Obscure and Silent Hill 2. Saying "I don't look like it but I'm quite a gamer!" Second place was at an old couple's house, as ususal I ask for video games the man tells me: I have those old baseball and football electronic games would you be interested? I say sure for the right price. Goes in the garage comes back with a giant box saying "I couldn't find the baseball games but I found these". I open the box I see the 2 NES, 2 SNES with Mega Man and Final Fight on top I was beyond stoked.... Scoring once at garage sale is nice but scoring twice the same day is insane! ^ This is the week after. Again two distinct places that are more interresting. First I go on a street where I used to live, there's a GIANT yard sale... the place is full of bicycles, dvds, tools, applicances the guy could open his own flea market. I ask for video games and I get a firm no. I'm still browsing through the stuff, and find the Tony Hawk wii game and some PC stuff buried in the DVDs, then I start digging through a VHS crate and see this disc binder. Ask if I can take a look and it's full of Ps2 discs with Dark Cloud 2, Star Ocean and some GTAs. Then later on my run I go to a place where it's several families, all neighbors. Ask for games, this dude says that he has a PS3 at home, lives on the corner a few houses further so I agree to wait for him. And I wait a reaaaaally long time... his grandmother had the time to offer me hot-dogs. He then comes back feeling bad because he couldn't find the controller for the Ps3. Starts diggind through the bag and puts the Zelda and Wii U games appart explaining to me "those aren't Ps3" I tell him I would be interrested and he just included them in the Ps3 lot! Worth it! ^ This is the same day! I'm back at home and my cousin comes like every Saturday PM to have supper and game later. He enters the house with this huge bag of games. He's the son of my aunt that goes to yard and church sales... this is her score! She's my godmother and used to bring me gifts at christmas and birthdays... Now that I'm older she told me that those scores are what replace the christmas gifts and I can't be happier! so grateful! ^ And this is last week! Forecast announced a rainy saturday morning and a sunny afternoon and I was looking through the ads for local yard sales on FB. Several ads wrote "starts as soon as the rain goes away". Problem is I wasn't available in the afternoon so i wrote to those people ask for games. One lady responded and was selling her entire life of gaming (what was left of it) and only kept the Xbox One. So yeah here it is! Didn't had that Resident Evil Outbreak so it's a nice addition. Should go garage hunting tomorrow... hope I have as much luck!
  2. Okay now this is something I have n't seen in a long time: Odyssey stuff in a yard sale! Those games are older than me!
  3. First garage/yard sales of the year! Paid 20$ for the first picture (mainly for the NES, GBA stuff was given to me by a colleague) and 45$ for the second (all in canadian dollars too). I did not have most of that stuff and I'm especially happy for the Mega Man 3. Marvel on Psp still has the Thanos card! This is off to a good start!
  4. Stuff added to the collection March edition! Some common and uncommon Ps4 games in there reaching the milestone of 200 Ps4 games these are fun to collect since they're relatively cheap Meanwhile I added two heavy hitters to my goal for the Ps1 full set: the two Personas. I'm taking a break until july to finish some non-gaming project and shall resume getting high end titles after that! I'm now at 831/1284 for the Ps1 set Xbox 360 games are another find of my aunt she told me she pays around 1$ a game so even sports game are worth it!
  5. Let's agree to disagree... however I would never lie about me having a full set with variant
  6. First in-the-wild find of 2022! My auntie often go to church sales and she brings me games whenever she finds them! This is the loot from last week. Ps2 games are scratched as hell but so far only GI Joe won't fire up! I need to finish testing and sorting them then I'll have a small portion of the lot for sale stay tuned!
  7. January pick ups! Big Ps1 Full set update! Tron Bonne and Torneko make my biggest video game transaction ever! So glad to cross those title off the list! 829/1284 for the full set! Still picking cheap Ps4 titles! This is my favorite system to game right now what do I try first?
  8. Final finds of the year! With the shipping of the Analogue Pocket and my love for TMNT I grabbed a few Game Boy game of the dudes in green! Still grabbing Ps4 games for cheap! Can't wait to play Spider-Man! Defcon 5, South Park, Mary Kate & Ashley and Ms Pac Man come from a seller on ebay i've become friends with! Surely a great ally in my quest! The rest is from a trip to Ottawa, I had not a lot of time to hunt but manage to visit one game store there and grab a few games! 820/1284 for the full set! The goal is to reach 1000 by the end of the year!
  9. That's sure an odd and cool piece to add! Cheap also!
  10. ! Here are my newest additions to my collection for November! Ps3 games were given to me by a work collegue! Goes without saying that I owe him a beer (or two)! Still grabbing every cheap Ps4 games I can find! Keep an eye for the Euro release of Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris... Us North Americans got only a code-in-a-box thing while Europe got full disc. And as for Ps1 I got to upgrade my childhood copy of Spyro 2 which is a GH and happy to add FIFA 96 which is very uncommon (there's not always a CIB copy on ebay) I'm now at 811/1284 for the Full Set! Big stuff will happen on that side for 2022!
  11. Here's the rest of my october's stuff that I haven't yet showed you guys! Lot of stuff, still picking up those cheap Ps4 games while they're hot! Also grabbed a bunch of Ps1 games for my full set, I reached my goal of 800 games (808 now) before the end of the year! A good mix of fillers and great games! Can't wait to try Sol Divide and Ghost in the Shell!
  12. I always say there's no Full Set Police and there shouldn't be one. you basically define what is your full set using some parameters that you decide... I personally collect what i call a "Gamer's Full Set" the question I ask myself is "what do I need to play everything?". So I don't need variants and stuff like that. On the NES that means I would substitute Stadium Events for World Class Track Meet for obvious reasons... On the TG16, Magical Chase would be mandatory. I also don't collect collector's editions unless: the only edition is the collector's edition OR it came with an accessory that can be used to actually play the game. That means that in the set that I'm currently trying to achieve (Ps1) I won't get Rayman 2 Beachball edition, but I got Arc The Lad Collection CIB, that also mean that I bought the Bass Landing bundle with the fishing rod. Those are my own parameters... obviously there's common sense... I mean if you don't get for example Chip and Dale on the NES and you're calling that a full set you're straight up cheating!
  13. Wow just found this.... this is why forums are the best! this community reminds me of the better part of NA and it's awesome! that's valuable knowledge
  14. Leaving your phone number at garage sales is 99% of the time a waste of time but the one time they call back it's totally worth it! A few back and forth negotiation and a good loot on my table!
  15. Last garage sale weekend of the season: next two weeks I can't go and then it'll be too cold in november for any sales to happen! Once again a good score, got my first Ps5 game (yeah at a garage sale) and a demo for Cool Boarders 3 I've never seen before! So happy for Vampire the Masquerade: one of the last game from my Childhood/Teenhood I needed!
  16. Yeah I've rarely been out of money for the last two years now that I'm not a student anymore and I have good income... but I exeded twice my usual garage sale budget so yeah... I had to chose!
  17. Well I've been collecting for almost 20 years and this is the first time I held an SMS cart in my hands! Never seeing those in the wild either! Basically the guy was an ex-collector/reseller that got more into toys and less into video games and he was off-loading some of is stuff! I left two TI-99 in the box and an odyssey Pong Clone because I was out of money!
  18. Garage Sales finds this weekend! So happy to finally have a Sega Master System and games! Can't wait to try it on my Analogue Mega SG! Kenseiden looks real fun but real hard! Also at 1st try Super Nova seams finally like a shmup I can handle for more than 5 seconds so I might play it more!
  19. More cheap and not-so-cheap games! glad to secure a copy of Hotline Miami and Akiba's Trip!
  20. On Ps1 I always see Destrega in the worst condition! Still haven't found a suitable copy for my set and I'm not that picky!
  21. Newest pick ups from the last few weeks! Sill grabbing those cheap Ps4 titles got a good deal on Samurai Warriors 4. Also grabbed two Not-So-Cheap games: Hotline Miami and Akiba's Trip. I intend to open Hotline and play it as I never played that game before! Also a new game for the Ps1 full set: Railroad Tycoon II i'm now at 792/1284. Also now I only need the red one to have all the regular controllers!
