A mix of nostalgia and the fact I just like collecting things I've tried to narrow my focus as I've gotten older, but all that's gotten me is a jillion Dragon Quest items, games and merch, and tons of stuff I don't have room for. I also collect anime cels and nerdy (mostly anime) dishes, but I've managed to calm those collections down for now. So yeah, I'm drowning in slimes. It's a way of life at this point.

Hilariously, I don't eat chicken, so I haven't been there in an age even if I was so inclined, but that's a good point too. I haven't noticed the Portillos losing people either, and they have a small fleet of people who take your order/money and give you your food without actually taking to anyone inside (they started doing this during covid,) it's rather fascinating to watch.

Funny how that works! I haven't paid much attention to our local Chik Fil A, so I don't know if it's the same here, but that's interesting.

I'm currently an office smurf for local government, in a position that by its nature couldn't be remote so work life didn't change much at all last year...even if everything else did. Regarding the restaurant staffing, it's amazing how much demand there is right now, there's a ton of "Hiring now!" signs all over most restaurants, and there's a freeway billboard for the local McD's announcing $16hr crew pay. It's almost tempting to look for a second job, but I just don't have the energy for it

I'll be honest, I don't have a ton of extra money right now to buy these all at once, but if anyone has copies of these games in their collections that they don't want, I might be your buyer! *Please, only games in good condition, I had to rebuy LoZ:LttP a few years back and am still bitter over the partially crushed box. Minor flaws are fine, but nothing too big please! (I'm spoiled by the fact we kept our original games in really good shape (with the exception of some well loved manuals haha.) My crowning set is my Dragon Quest/Warrior collection; I maintain keeping at least one CIB copy of every US released Dragon Quest game...even if it's getting a bit ridiculous with the DQXI releases. I don't collect label variants, though, I used to have two variants of DW1, but I sold the extra some years ago. I also have a Metric ton of DQ merchandise, most of which I'll spare you all here.

It's a texture thing, but that's a fair point Maybe I'll feel adventurous again someday!

I love cheese on pizza and other things, just something about cheese on burgers

Lunch (and dinner omg) was a burger the size of my head from Farmers Fresh, one of those family-owned diner w/drivethru places near my workplace. I had never gotten a burger there before, so I stupidly thought "it can't be that big, I'll get a double!" And WELP Please note: I'm a weirdo who doesn't like cheese on her burgers, if you're wondering why it's kinda naked. I managed about 90-95% of the burger before calling it, it's just too big. Lesson learned!

Considering I grew up with the big Square SNES rpgs, Dragon Warrior/Quest, Earthbound, and E.V.O., all of which I still have, I kinda have what some people would consider a grail these days (at least based on ebay sales haha.) So I'm gonna give this to my Dragon Quest XIS Nintendo Switch Loto Edition, mainly for the reason is that I got it for retail cost by sheer luck. Someday I'll have room for all my consoles, I'm one 4.0 earthquake from said DQ Switch biting it on my floor...
