  1. I don't see this as a difficult issue. I would bet once the server check gets reverse engineered, someone could manufacture a dongle for the network port that mimics a network and the psn servers for check in after a battery change.
  2. Yea, I agree, I just wonder how many patches will be lost to the ether. We probably won't really know until years from now.
  3. I didn't know about that site. I'll check it out!
  4. With the store closing, many are anticipating physical price increases, which makes sense. However, with the recent news about some games no longer being able to download patches, what does that mean for collecting PS3? Personally for me, I see people still dealing in physical from a collector or nostalgia perspective but for playing these games, downloading patches and iso's for hacked systems is the future of playing them. Thoughts? (Yes, I do see this as my moral excuse to download all the roms I want without owning a physical copy )
  5. I really want a series x. No rational reason, i just want it. Can't get one though.... so I'll be waiting until I can find one without stress tapping f5 ten million times....
  6. I tried that but didn't like how dark it made the picture. Was unplayable in my mind because I had one in high-school (I can remember how its supposed to look). I eventually got an OSSC with the original hidef pack. It looks great on my 4k now.
  7. I've been playing the ps4 medievil remake. Its simple and very Halloween for the little free time I have right now. Going to watch scary movies Halloween night with the wife though.
  8. I've been using it to play city skylines on my phone in bed and I love it. It's a cool service.
  9. That's an interesting thought exercise. On one hand, a large portion of buyers buy for nostalgia now, but in 30 years, that won't be the case for Nes or Genesis. It'll be more like atari. On the other hand, IPs that are still alive may still be collectable, in the way old comic books still remain collectable. So....who knows?
  10. I want both for no good reason. Launch titles look ok but nothing that is must play and I just can't justify the cost and stress of a pre order right now. So I'm trying to put it out of my mind. I'm playing witcher 3 right now, which no joke, will probably keep me busy through the end of November. I love hardware though, so I still really want them...
  11. I don't see an issue with investing. Not my purpose personally but at the same time, I could just download roms instead of buying cib genesis/ sega cd games. If you only care about playing, repros or roms on a flashcard are all you need. If you are still buying the original media, you're lying to yourself if you think you're only buying to play. I'm buying the original media because there is something tactile and enjoyable about getting my own copy of the rom for a flash cart. I also enjoy knowing my $80 lightening force won't lose value sitting on the shelf. Not investing, but it's close enough that I can't be a gate keeper and complain about the "investors".
