  1. Mass Effect and Assassins Creed are the big ones for me. Never cared to play Mass Effect, and I always wanted to play Assassins Creed but wanted to start at the first game and make my way through the series. It is to the point right now where doing that with Assassins Creed just seems to daunting.
  2. Unless you find an awesome deal, I second this comment.
  3. I actually decided to take a break from watching Raw and Smackdown for a few weeks. Seeing Bayley and Sasha Banks on every episode is really annoying me. I'm just waiting for their story line to be done and over. Bayley is a terrible heel, just my opinion.
  4. You are correct. This is the true definition of the word. However, many people in this community of gamers and collectors that play old games, have referred to themselves as "Retro Gamers" or "Retro Collectors". It was in this context that I was using the term "Retro". I was under the impression that this forum was for people that are part of said "retro" community.
  5. I've always enjoyed the Mario Party and Mario Kart games for just some fun local multiplayer. Not exactly co-op, but fun none the less.
  6. The topic for this thread is based on something I saw in another thread. What do you consider retro for consoles and games? I've heard many people say it's the 20 year rule. AKA if the game is 20 years old or older it is a retro game. I've always subscribed to the "Two generation rule". If games or consoles are two generations behind, then it is retro. Here is my example: The current gen Playstation is the PS4, so two generations removed is the PS2. The PS2 and all games on that console are retro. What is your take?
  7. I just remembered a funny story when I worked at GameStop in the early '00. We had this guy that came in about once a week to buy PC games (GameStop sold big box PC back then). He was very loud and super cocky. He talked about how he could beat any game and that all games were too easy. After a few months of dealing with this guy, he asked "What are some games no one has beat yet?". I piped up and said, "I don't know anybody that has beat The Sims." He bought the game on the spot...and we never saw him again. Some friends of mine and myself often joke that he is still in his mom's basement trying to "beat" The Sims.
  8. From talking to different people, it seems there are some good deals still out there. However, it seems it really depends on where you live. People I know that live in or near major cities seem to score stuff more often. If you live in a smaller, more rural area you tend to come up empty handed.
  9. I'm kinda the same way. I have nostalgia for time periods I have never lived in. I'm a sucker for 50's and 60's Sci-fi/Horror media, but I was born in '83.
  10. His coverage of The History of Commodore was a masterpiece. One my favorite Youtube documentaries. And it was made by one guy.
  11. I love seeing when people just make mention of the Channel F. Most new collectors have never heard of it. We need to educate.
  12. I know people that are going for full sets. Which includes games they hate, but they gotta have it.
  13. I've tried watching just about every major (More than 1000 subs) gaming Youtuber out there, and I have a few curated channels that I still follow. Many channels just seem to do the exact same stuff as the others. My favorite channels of all time go to The Gaming Historian and Nostalgia Nerd. Then again, I love in-depth history videos on gaming and tech.
  14. I have respect for people collecting for OG Xbox. Not many people do. It's not my personal cup of tea, but it had some great games.
  15. I have a Pi3B+ and everything up to PS1 runs. I can run PS1 games, but some 3D PS1 games can struggle a bit. N64 and above is not even worth it. You might get a game to run here or there but for the most part those emulators are useless on that type of hardware.
  16. This is how I ended up with a sealed copy of Final Fantasy VII. Didn't get around to playing it, and then before I knew it the PS2 was out.
  17. This is one thing I miss. Because so many new games come out every year, I have a HUGE backlog of games. I remember when there were 1 or 2 "MUST HAVE" game(s) every year, and nothing else really mattered.
  18. It is very odd seeing an EA game tied to a Capcom game. I know Viewtiful Joe was one of the "Capcom Five" games during the 2002 E3. Maybe it could have something to do with that. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capcom_Five
  19. I've done the same. I purged a few years ago. At one time I wanted a complete NES, SNES, Playstation 1 collection. Then I realized, unless I was MUCH more wealthy than I am now it wasn't gonna happen. I started to piecemeal items from my collection, to get the items I did want. I have a more curated (<---I love this word) collection now, and a higher appreciation for it.
  20. The Game Chasers have a few animated videos. They are very Adult Swim style cartoons. You kinda gotta know all of their stuff to get the inside jokes in the animated videos however.
  21. I had a discussion with some friends early today about the game inflation. If the government does not extend the bonus $600 unemployment after this week we could see a decline in prices. I say we see what happens. Just a possible prediction. Don't spend $120 on a CIB Pokemon Red just yet.
  22. Welcome! If you got a copy of Super Mario Sunshine for sale, @Gloves will be your best bud!
