  1. I'm about a hundred miles from Sturgis. It's usually an annual annoyance but this time I thoroughly avoided being in public and fueling up at gas stations near the highways/interstate. Seemed a lot quieter this year for precisely those reasons.
  2. I’ll trade more expensive stuff on forums for a pile of desirable commons if the situation calls for it. If it nets me a mid-tier game or two that I’m looking for and I get some easy trade bait to as filler, I’m okay with it. And since eBay hates sellers and attracts/protects a whole breed of slime balls, sometimes the better option is to make a swap with a trusted forum buddy for a bunch of potential quick sales to mitigate the risk of losing it all in one transaction.
  3. The link between Covid and hydroxychloroquine lies in an immune system condition called “cytokine storms”. These cyto storms are basically the body’s over-response to things like certain viral infections and can cause organ failure. Covid appears to be triggering these responses in many people who are getting incredibly ill and needing respirators. Hydroxychloroquine is a rheumatoid arthritis drug that was also approved to treat cyto storms in cancer patients a few years ago. As far as the data for treating severely ill Covid patients goes, I haven’t looked too deeply. On the surface, it appears mixed, incomplete, or too early to make a definitive answer. I could be wrong, but that’s how I understand it anyway. And as stated in previous posts, we as Americans are not above simplifying the facts to fit our own political narratives. Here’s a couple links: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cytokine_storm https://www.forbes.com/sites/claryestes/2020/04/16/what-is-the-cytokine-storm-and-why-is-it-so-deadly-for-covid-19-patients/amp/
  4. They’re not horrible, but they don’t do much for me. I went to an Ozzfest 15-ish years ago that they were playing in. They were right before Sabbath at the end. All of the day long anarchy topped off with a killer Slayer performance leading into them really made Ozzy and Priest look incredibly sleepy in comparison.
  5. It's one of those games where if you don't get it, you don't get it. If you get it, you get it. Got it? 10/10
  6. @42 foot tapeworm My eBay app on iPhone doesn’t like the link. You have to force it into browser mode by holding down the link then selecting “Open in New Tab”.
  7. Unboxing videos are an incredibly useful resource as a checklist of what extra inserts and advertisements should come in a used game for me. I’ve used them to compare different print runs of games and even used them to see whether a “definitive” version of a game has all of the content on a disc or it’s some garbage vanilla repackaging with a DLC code.
  8. Y’all keep mentioning getting a 151 Pokédex but when did the Mew glitch become common knowledge? Seems like it was way later. Like after that game was relevant. I only had a Mew (with some diseased stats) because my cousin duped me one from a Gameshark. I distinctly remember her saying that only Nintendo could put it on your cart, which sounds accurate in a post-56k modem / Wikipedia world today.
  9. Lots of hours destroyed here. Great memories with family and friends, too. It’s not all nostalgia either. I spent a good portion of last year flying back and forth across the country. Found out that Leaf Green and 2nd / 3rd gen games still pass the time in a hurry. 9/10
  10. The parasitic losses involved with selling on eBay are usually deterrent enough to keep me from going hog wild on selling. Their cut (along with PayPal, postage, and taxes) hasn’t become any more seller friendly so I’ll probably just sit on my favorite expensive stuff. Maybe I’ll go blind or lose my hands in a freak accident, then it’ll be a bit more prudent to sell. Or if there’s an afterlife / I become a ghost, maybe I’ll die one of these days and laugh while my family sells Dreamcast and Saturn games on eBay for way too cheap and then mails them without any padding or protection.
  11. My boys talked me into doing a match completely blind. I found a gun, snuck up on another player, used the gun on that player's back... only to have that person flip around, whip up an amazing monument, and dump me within seconds while I stood there with my thumb up my ass. That was the beginning and the end of my Fortnite career. The boys tried to show me the mechanics of the building stuff, but I was never really interested any further. Now Fortnite isn't cool amongst their peers and they've all moved on to Apex and other stuff. I respect Fortnite for its place in gaming history, but it wasn't anything special enough for me. 2/10

  13. They’re pretty good. I went to one of their shows in Denver a bunch of years ago and I remember the live act being a positive experience.
