As a sanity check, just to be 120% sure that is indeed a broken trace (It most certainly is), when you locate the point where that trace goes, try probing it from the pin side with your metre. If it does not beep - congratulations, you've got a winner

Yup, that looks like a broken trace to me. Use a multimetre to probe the part on the board side and try and locate where that goes. Then a solder bodge wire from that point to the pin by scraping off some of the solder mask, soldering it to the now exposed copper and you're good to go! (EDIT: Furthermore, it looks to be on the CHR side, and seeing as it messes with the graphics that's an extra clue that it might be it!)

Since I'm here, might as well post my sweet Mercari find of a week or so ago. I happened to be at the right place at the right time - this ad selling this lot just got posted a minute ago. I did wonder if I should for a few seconds but I ended up pulling the trigger (And I should have done it earlier). Obviously the GT was in dire need of a recap... But it was a successful one. The corner where the lanyard is also got a bit smashed up so I has to superglue the plastic back in place. I'm thinking about epoxying it down the line, but it'll have to do for now - solid enough. As for the Famicom stuff, I did have most of these, but there's a few I didn't have, which is always nice But enough talk, here's the haul!

Ever since moving to Japan my main goal for now is a complete HuCard set for the PC Engine. I think I have like 18 to go now. I'm still looking for NES stuff on and off though, I've been wanting a complete set since forever and I'm down to 19 carts, most being PAL exclusive/variants and unlicensed I'll still be doing the CD set for the PC Engine probably after I'm done with the cards, but after that I really don't know . Maybe get into the X68000? After playing Bubblegum Crash on the PC Engine I do want to get into playing some more Japanese text adventures (No not just *those* ones... More like Snatcher or Onryo Senki)

Thanks, hahaha. I worked a bit on Elden Ring but ugh Godrick is hard. I'll settle on some Bubble Bobble 2 for now Got to Round 30 so far. Really love those late release Taito games

Alright, back to the Backlog Challenge... Day 2 of Elden Ring starring Chad Thundercock. Today's been mostly slaying those guards outside of the castle. Died a few times but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. Love just ambushing these dumbasses and slicing them apart. Found a huge sword that can off them in one hit if ambushed which is nice, and a map. Also I can apparently summon some sorta horse to ride on. Gotta try that tomorrow. I prolly need to explore the place a bit more cuz that castle is out of the question, there's some ogre that doesn't seem all that easy to slay in there lol

First game I beat in 2023 is... drumroll... Solitaire Poker on the Game Gear! I just got this Smoke Game Gear at a Hard Off for a great price (20% off the marked price), and somehow, while testing it after repairs, I managed to play Solitaire Poker till the end lol

Well, I didn't have much luck finding Dark Souls at Book Off, and since there was a Steam sale, I just went ahead and DL'd Elden Ring. And yes... I DIED! Several times in fact. I am having more luck ambushing those guards near the ruins though. This asshole near where you get out on his horse will get what's coming to him I tell ya. But so far it's pretty fun lol. With having a full time job, if I can even just *play* any games, it'd be great. But this is a great opportunity to get back into playing games seriously. Here's a few games I wanna play/replay in 2023. Elden Ring (PC) - I wanna try some more modern stuff so this one's certainly one to try. Castlevania SotN (PS1) - I took my US PS1 from storage when I was in Switzerland so I could play the copy I won on eBay. I just need a Japanese mains plug for it lol. Super Metroid (SNES) - That one's a given, It's *the* one game I play through every year EVO (SNES) - Took this one out of storage for a reason. It's a fun little game Xenogears (PS1) - Got this one out of storage as well cuz I remember an old friend telling me it's amazing EXO ONE (PC) - Tried this one at a friend's house when I was in the Netherlands. Loved its experimental nature. May or may not have been balls high when playing. Dead Space (PC) - Excited to play the remake. One of my colleagues keeps talking about this game so I wanna check the remake out when it's out Aldynes (SuperGrafx) - The one game I got really into trying to beat that last boss. I'll get this cunt in 2023 for sure! Bubble Bobble 2 (NES) - My latest NES addition in my almost complete set. Gotta make sure to beat it as I love the later Taito releases! Popful Mail (PC Engine CD) - I was really enjoying this one until my old TV decided to make a weird noise. I got quite far but didn't continue it since the incident. Snatcher (PC Engine CD) - Another great one I gotta finish! 11 games should be enough for now I guess. I'll try and update y'all with any progress I make on them.
