  1. At the end it comes back to me, I'll take something for myself like everyone else and take a picture of everything that came in the box so all can see what was in it when it got back.. Then In a couple on months start over again. I usually send it out twice a year. Once after the holidays and once somewhere in the summer. The two time frames allows for people to get new stuff in the holiday season and maybe clean out some old stuff to make room and put it in the box, and similarly in the summer after the "spring cleaning" season when everyone can also hit up the flea markets and garage sales and maybe find some more stuff. Exact dates are just based on me getting to it I give a month for people to find the thread and sign up and then depending on how shipping goes (this time was surprisingly efficient and I think the fastest it has ever gone) a couple months to make the round.
  2. Mercari getting rid of selling fees? https://www.reddit.com/r/Ebay/s/GQfbYsyaOV
  3. Oh my mail lady would give me some real side eye back in the day. Especially around 2012-2013 I would have days with 6 or 10 padded envelops with games getting delivered and packed into my mailbox.
  4. Do you chronicle your PCB design anywhere? I design PCB's at work and would love to see what your working on.
  5. The speed at which I acquire things has slowed down as Ive completed collections and have fewer and fewer things on the “need” list, but the goal has never changed. Still going for full sets. I always bounce around to different focuses. This year has been mainly the 5200 side of my collection, last year was N64 manuals, the year prior Strategy guides. Next year might be 7800 or Colecovision
  6. They all reach the major hub in my state and then just get the “in transit to next facility.” One last updated the 15, the other the 17th and one I got refunded already
  7. Something been going on with the usps in my area lately. Ive had maybe 2 packages from ebay go missing in 10yrs. Then all off a sudden Ive had 3 disappear this month. It’s maddening
  8. Never liked it or thought any of it was funny
  9. This round is just about over. It’s done about twice a year, you can jump on the next one if you wish.
  10. I can answer one thing. The battery holders are generic. You can use them whatever way you can get them to fit in any given cart that uses a battery (NES, N64, blah blah) The little gear looking things with them are replacement gears for N64 controllers so someone can refurbish they’re dead analog stick in the controller. The rest I don’t know
  11. It’s not any better at least on reddit. Often times individual subs have rules against posts that generally would be asked by newcomers and naturally those kind of posts become tiresome/repetitive to “veterans.” The “is this game fake/how do I start collecting/what’s your desert island games.” etc But as a hobby gets older it naturally becomes gatekeepy in that way just because veterans are tired of the same old same old. I don’t think I actively dunk on newbies I either skip over they’re posts entirely or I end up in an argument with someone else in the thread that’s been at it for a while and gives what I believe to be bad advice. (Specifically using abrasives of any kind to clean a pcb, I’ll argue against that until I die)
  12. @Fleck586 just checking in did you get the box sent out this past Thursday?
  13. Ah, I never played the originals so I had nothing to compare it too
  14. What’s wrong with the Crash Bandicoot collection?
  15. Eh, It just comes off as lazy me. If they got something substantial added to them like the Atari collection got when it released or something, I could be more excited. As it is now they just slap the rom on a cart.
  16. If anyone is near Northwest NJ you can go see Mick Foley be a special guest referee at an independent show and go to the meet and greet
  17. Im thinking lazy ports of older games is the future of LRG. Well, the present too but it’s become more obvious to me
  18. I went with the end of N64 as my cutoff. So I have issues 1-150. I could never stand the Gamecube. I think 150 is the one that has Luigi on the cover that says “It’s here” on the cover or something like that. Or it’s the last one that has the logo on the corner showing it covered something N64 related. I forget. Ive always been meaning to see if there was an issue that covered Tony Hawk 3 for N64 since that came out much later than issue 150 but haven’t gotten around to it
  19. Dam, Glad I grabbed the first 10 issues in a lot back in the day for like $75
  20. Yea Ive gone through the tool and read all the documents I can find. They don’t answer these two key questions. There’s no way I can make any assumptions on a government program, it’s a good way to get screwed. Im in NJ and I know what the income limits are and they’re very clear that any adult in the home will count towards the income limits but they are very unclear on occupancy changes. What’s to stop someone from just saying “yup only me moving in.” and then bringing a sibling in a week later? The second question is much more important. Because your assets are not used to determine the loan amount they’ll qualify you for. There are asset limits (the exact number Im also having a hard time pinning down). If you exceed said limit then you’re required to use anything in excess of the limit towards the purchase of the house. Which kinda defeats one of the benefits of this loan type which is 0% down payment, but whatever. So if the limit is 15k and you have 17k is assets across various checking/savings accounts. Then you’re required to use that excess 2k. Now if you have a joint account with someone that can be a problem, because theoretically all of what’s in that account may is not fully yours. If that person were to live with you, all fine and dandy because all their stuff goes into the calculation anyway. But if they don’t then is the whole amount still considered your asset and you would be required to use said funds? Then you could be digging into funds that aren’t “yours.”
  21. I guess, you have a point. So my questions are: The incomes of all adult occupants are taken into account for the loan amount/approval. But what happens some time after the purchase of the home and the occupancy number changes (marriage/divorce/death/etc) When looking at assets, how are joint accounts considered when one of the account holders won't be one of the occupants?
