  1. Cool! Thank you. So I more or less guessed right for the first one. for the 2nd one I didn't even notice the chip was missing! That explains why it doesn't work. I guess a previous owner liked to tinker around. The rest of the games seemed to work normally, but I'll have to open them for fun just to see if they did anything else them. Thanks a bunch!
  2. Recently picked up some Super Famicon games from a flea market for no particular reason other than they were cheap and I knew my system was modified to play NTSC-J games in it. In the bundle of items, 2 of them confuse me a little bit and I'm hoping someone could help shed some light for me. Item #1 - https://imgur.com/a/y2bTTTB Super Mario RPG! Looked normal enough at first, but when I plugged it in the play much to my surprise it was in English. I knew that wasn't right, so I took the game apart to look at the board and it definitely wasn't right. I'm more of a casual collector who knows more than the average person, but I'm far from a professional. I did look up the PCB board and it is indeed a legit Super Mario RPG Board from what I can tell. With the exception of the wires. This is the part I know nothing about. What the heck are the wires for. Is it someone's attempt at a home repair? or did someone Mod it to play in English instead of Japanese? I just have no clue what's going on there. And #2 - https://imgur.com/a/sBDLc9o Then there was this cartridge. No Label - Remains of a crappy Glue job on the Front. The shell appears to be like normal NTSC-J Super Famicon shells, with the exception that there are no Screw holes for the security bits and is held together with plastic tabs and no Nintendo markings anywhere. There are also grooves on the back of the cartridge so that it would fit a NA Super Nintendo console, unlike normal NTSC-J cartridges. And then the board does not have any markings I could identify. No Nintendo branding anywhere and I could not find a PCB match on a database website I used for reference. My brain tells me this is just some reproduction. Unfortunately it does not work when tested. When turned on, the system just acts like there is no cartridge plugged in. But I learned not to assume anything, and would prefer confirmation that it is junk before I get rid of it. Appreciate any info anyone can give!
  3. Speak for yourself! That game is a Banger! Nah, I completely agree. I was just curious if anyone else has seen a missing seal like that on anything at all. I've seen Misprints that has the seal slightly off center and such, but not completely missing. It's something I've never run by before but the whole running out of ink towards the end of the run would make a lot of sense. Should I send it to WATA and get 2 mil is the next question. Appreciate everyone who chimed in! Happy hunting.
  4. Awesome! Thanks for checking. Now I just have to figure out if it's a misprint or re-print. Looks and feels completely real to me other than the missing seal, are there any other telltale signs of a reprint that I could just dumbly be overlooking? I could always take some additional pictures and post them here if anyone is a visual savant and picking this sort of thing out. I'm usually pretty confident at my own ability to pick out reproduction items, but at the same time I'm always learning new things about systems and games that make me realize I'm actually pretty dumb.
  5. Didn't think about trying out reddit. I might let this post sit for another week and if nothing comes from it, I'll make an account on there a post it there. - Thank you! I'm not particularly interested in Oddity / Variants in my own collection, I have a hard enough time keeping track of the core items as it is. I know it's a crappy title, but I feel like if it is a misprint vs a reprint or something standard it could go from no one wanting it to someone really wanting it. I'm just more interested in finding out if it's real or fake before I use it as a fire starter
  6. Color me shocked that no one has this gem as the centerpiece of their collection
  7. Nope, not that I can tell. It's a pretty standard color scheme throughout and the only seal is on the inside of the front cover page that I pictured.
  8. Hi all! I'm a pretty big manual hoarder, and came across this guy today. Have never personally seen a manual missing the Seal like this. I wanted to assume it was just a reproduction - but the manual itself seems 100% authentic to me otherwise. It's also not exactly a title people line up to try and make high quality reproductions of (Mia Hamm Soccer Shootout). Just curious more than anything if anyone has come across this themselves before I decide what to do with it. Attached is a photo! Thanks in advance!
  9. Thanks! I plan on spending some time later on looking around.
  10. Box lot winner / Seller here. First off my apologies to @coffeewithmrsaturn. I won that lot without even realizing the value of that box. When i came home from work and saw that winning bid price tag i almost fell over. Huge shout out to the buyer @Nesmaster and @thatgamernerd for filling me in on exactly what it was. When I listed it for sale today, I knew it had to be rare due to the sheer lack of ANY info i could find on it when trying to price it. I just tossed it up for $100 because I figured that would buy me some time to do more research, and it literally sold within minutes, so that's when I started asking those 2 questions. Nesmaster sent me here and thatgamernerd sent me his Youtube video. Both of which I greatly appreciate. I'm a huge box hoarder, so I apologize to anyone who gets stuck in a bidding war against me for a lot I find interest in! Typically I only add items into my own collection that I have interest in actually playing or have played and enjoyed in the past. So no disrespect to the cartoon network line up, but generally they aren't my cup of tea so I just tossed it up as fuel for my next venture... But after learning of it's Mysterious background from the 2 gentleman mentioned earlier, I'm super Salty I didn't find this thread while doing my research or else I would have kept this bad boy for my own collection because the back story is cool as hell. Alas, I respect the laws of the Bay - and @Nesmaster is the new owner. No matter how long you are in the collection scene, Its always super cool to learn and be a part of something new and generally unknown! I'll enjoy my experience of owning it for the 2 weeks I had it. And Again, I'm super appreciative of @Nesmaster and @thatgamernerd for teaching me about what I (briefly) had.
