Would’ve been pretty irritated by the Power Pad.
Nah, he would just slap it with his hands like everyone else playing Track and Field.

Wait, FDR didn't collect video games?

In a reverse move, my local classical station (KUSC 91.5) uses a piano arrangement of Wind Scene from Chrono Trigger as bumper music.

In terms of newer games, I think the Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor/War are worth playing. The nemesis system offers a mechanic that you can't get anywhere else.

It appears I'm in the minority per usual; I disagree with almost every more popular choice here lmao.
Ecco was always overrated AF for me, while games like ToeJam and Earl (both entries) are like maximum genesis novelty in a package, that always seems to get overlooked in favor of generic titles IMHO!
Ecco was one of those games that I did not get as a kid, much like Tetris. It wasn't till later in life did I start enjoying it. But Panic on Funkotron was always a favorite.

ComixZone earns most of its points for its concept, but it is very lackluster in the execution.
Plus it's bangin' soundtrack (If you like 90's grunge/alt rock AND the Genesis sound chip).

I felt bad about Starflight vs NBA Jam. They're both great games for completely different reasons. It just depends whether or not you have someone to play with.

Anyone else watching Shogun? Available on FX and Hulu.

A couple of months back I ran into a local author at Barnes & Noble, promoting his new book. He was wearing Stephen King and Clive Barker schwag, so we started up a conversation about all things horror. I ended up buying his book, a horror anthology, and got him to sign it. Figured I'd support him, and I'm a sucker for short story collections. The next day he did a promotion at my friend's book store, which was also pretty cool.
Finally cracked it open, and OH MY FUCKING GOD, it is the most unreadable shit I've ever come across in my life. Clearly the only editor he had was his wife or girlfriend. And he's read a lot of books, but I guess he never actually gleaned any writing tips from any of them. And the publisher? Googled 'em, and they're just some bullshit vanity shop that dupes talentless hacks into paying them money.
I feel bad too, cause this dude is all about this thing. He really thought that he had "made it" and that he was gonna enter the pantheon of great writers.
Here is a sample. This is basically every page.
Does it seem like AI writing? Poor grammar, unnatural dialogue, and curious word choice.

I was born in 1985 and I've done everything on this list with the exception of Columbia House because even as a kid I could tell it was a scam. I imagine even people born in 88-89, deep into millennial territory, could say the same.

The box hath arrived and hast been plundered. Here is a picture of what I took. Put Friday the 13th back in as I already had it but it was out of order so I missed it on the shelf. Put back in a mixture of NES, SNES, and Switch games and paper. Should be able to send off by Thursday, but going to swing by the PO and get a new box tomorrow.
What's that DQ cart?

I finished Defiant by Brandon Sanderson, considering it's the finale to the Skyward series, it was
Spoilerpretty meh.

Over the weekend I read The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, which I loved. It's short and reads like a bedtime/fairy tale adventure. I also read Slade House by David Mitchell, which wasn't as good. It's a little horror/sci-fi/fantasy, yet predictable. Now I just started Defiant by Brandon Sanderson, the last book in the Skyward series.

I've never walked out of a movie, but the worst was Radio (mentally disabled Cuba Gooding Jr) with the eventual Mrs. Aguy. We were the only ones in the theater, so we just MST3000 the thing. The only movie I can recall turning off because it was so bad was House of 1000 Corpses.

@T-Pac I'll claim my Bun Bun.

Just watched it with the kids, not very scary but pretty nonsensical. I have no experience with the franchise, so 27% on RT was spot on.

I first saw Rob Schrab on G4 back in the day, doing an interview about Channel 101. Yacht Rock was one of my favorites. Schrab was never on it, but Jason Roiland and Dan Harmon each make a couple appearances.

With the exception of Grimes, every one of these bands was on heavy rotation in my walkman back in high school circa 2001.
