  1. *taking notes of different verticals to pitch site sale to*
  2. I'm still waiting for someone to offer to buy this place. So far you've all posted basically nothing worth selling, get to work!
  3. The longer you go not doing PVP the harder it gets. As our minds age and our finger dexterity dulls, we're getting farther and farther from being capable in that regard.
  4. I removed the background colour to make it visible on light mode. All the styles associated with this post have been pasted in - if you want to lose those styles when pasting from elsewhere you can use Shift+Ctrl+V to paste as plain text, keeping in mind this would remove bolding as well. Aside - if this is the only place you're posting these it might make more sense to just do it right here rather than in another editor. You should be able to post the blog as private and "Publish" it when you feel it's ready, so you can save your progress that way if it takes a while to write them up.
  5. *playing Breath of the Wild for the first time* *sees a Hinox* *approaches it, gets his face smashed in* *never plays again*
  6. On Adventure 2 it's not just mirror mode; the coins themselves are in harder to reach places and the NPC racers are much faster than Adventure 1, which made for some legit difficult races especially as you say in the medieval races.
  7. The guy who made Project64 has a decompilation project for DKR as well as benchmarking tools.
  8. Something that always turned me off about MK64 and that I really believe is an elevating factor for DKR by comparison is that MK uses sprites for character models (and items and other stuff). It's a very flat feeling game in a lot of places. DKR uses full 3D models for the characters and IMO it really brings a depth to them which I feel MK64 lacks. Beyond that, IMO the graphics as a whole are much more vibrant - it's an incredibly pleasant game to look at. AND THE MUSIC! DKR kick's MK64's ass with in the audio department. MK's music is very background-y, whereas I'll happily pull up the DKR soundtrack just to listen to it and bob along. Whenever I play the game I whistle with the tunes until my mouth damn near hurts cuz I'll play through the whole game twice in one sitting and just vibe to the absolute banger OST.
  9. Oh and you're absolutely insane calling this game shovelware lol. It's a top 10 game for the console easily.
  10. Diddy is Donkey Kong's (from DKC) nephew. The original Donkey Kong is Cranky, and Donkey Kong from DKC is Cranky's grandson.
  11. The game runs at a constant 15-20, sometimes hitting 30, and mostly hovering around 18-19 fps. Which is entirely playable and completely normal for an N64 game - I've beaten all of the Rare record times on all of the tracks without issue. I've only seen it dip below 15 fps on 4 player mode, and even then is still hovers at 16-17 or higher.
  12. I'm in a similar boat - I enjoy SOTE, but man it'd be tough without the nostalgia to enjoy it. If nostalgia does play a part in me enjoying DKR (I'm sure it does) then I'm glad I have that nostalgia, cuz I consider it still enjoyable enough that I play it at least once a year without hesitation.
  13. Ok I just tossed it in and checked, and yeah - you do have to play the Adventure Mode to unlock tracks in the other mode. I've probably just never noticed this was the case because of course when I pop in DKR I go straight to beating Adventure Mode because it's great. That said, in the Adventure Mode you literally can get straight into racing. Yes, there's boss races, and after beating a boss you need to beat their levels again and collect coins while doing so, but that's just extra challenge - race so well that slight detours for coins don't impact your ability to win. I guess it can't be for everyone, to the point that some people even delude themselves into thinking the game controls poorly (lol), but I can at least understand where you're coming from even if to me it doesn't feel like a big deal (in fact it feels like a huge bonus).
  14. I'm not sure I understand... It's a racing game... You race in it, almost exclusively. It has a loose story and a sort of hub world to tie it all together, but you're not platforming or anything. Beyond that if you hate the hub there's a straight up "pick a level to race in" mode.
  15. Unethical Life Pro tip: Make an affiliate account, then click your own affiliate links whenever you're going to buy stuff on Amazon/Ebay.
  16. Speaking of, obviously this absolute banger wins it for me:
  17. I played a lot of NHL 95 with my brother as kids.
  18. I beat Baldur's Gate 3 over the weekend. Took pretty long since I was playing co-op with my wife, but overall was very enjoyable. I did my typical first playthrough character - a Dwarf with a huge fuck-off sword. Big numbers, no death, all fun. Started a playthrough solo (i.e. not co-op), playing as The Dark Urge. Went with a half-elf Sorcerer for this run, and I've bumped up the difficulty to Tactician, and am restricting myself to two characters - myself and Shadowheart, who will remain a cleric, but re-spec'd into a healer/tank. It's been fun so far.
  19. Honestly probably Call of Duty or something with a similarly high skill ceiling. CoD has the advantage of getting new games regularly, AND the old games are STILL active online. I can hop on World at War right now and there will be servers going with players on them. Then there's the competitive and ranked scene, with the potential to "go pro". Runescape would be another "series" which technically counts as two separate and both HUGE MMORPG games, and there's other side content you could also enjoy. The replay ability with specific builds and self-imposed challenges in Runescape, I could play for the rest of my life and never run out of things to do, assuming the service itself doesn't die. And even if it did, private servers are a thing. Endless pastabilities.
