5-year-old and 14-year-old shot in road rage fight between two men, Florida police say

https://www.miamiherald.com/news/nation-world/national/article267133571.html

A 5-year-old and a 14-year-old riding in separate vehicles were struck by bullets when the two drivers started shooting, according to a Florida sheriff.

Shortly after, the drivers pulled their vehicles over and started arguing. A responding sheriff’s deputy had to break up the argument, Leeper said. Both of the children were taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. “There could’ve been two dead kids because of two stupid grown men,” Leeper said.

Stupid grown men is a nice way of putting it 😠

2 teenagers charged with attempted homicide in shooting that injured 6 outside Pittsburgh funeral

https://www.cnn.com/2022/10/29/us/2-teens-charged-pittsburgh-shooting/index.html

The shooting erupted Friday outside Pittsburgh’s Destiny of Faith Church, CNN previously reported. Five people were shot and one person was injured while trying to escape from the scene, police said. Pittsburgh police arrested 19-year-old Shawn Davis and 16-year-old Hezekiah Nixon, according to the release. Davis and Nixon are being held at the Alleghany County Jail, police said. Both individuals were also charged with criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault and firearms charges, police say.

My question is, why are they charged with "aggravated assault" and not attempted murder?? My understanding is that attempted murder is premeditated - which seems clear in this case. Well, maybe it's a PA law in effect that makes it aggravated assault. At any rate, I hope they don't get off easy because they are teenagers - I think this country is fed-up with this shite and midterm elections will see a hug influx of new politicians being elected who promise to go "tough on crime".

Ugh... I don't even...  and then this this morning I read about.

Beating a monk, a buddhist monk and stealing temple money.  Damn shame that wasn't a shaolin monk. 😕  Also read the details of the perps, gets worse than you'd imagine.

I find it very sad that the victim blames himself for opening the door.   The fault lies with the perps here.

I suspect the van will turn out to be stolen.   The 4k will likely last a few days buying drugs.

WTF is wrong with people???

Lock these fooks up after the trial(s) and throw away the key.

I really don't see any rehabilitation for any of these pieces of pure shite. People that torture other people, I say just execute them - they're good for manure but nothing else.

This, is why people hate the police. I'm not saying the hate is legit, numerous and numerous police officers risk their lives everyday for the good. However, it only takes a few shitbags to stink everything up...

Afroman gets back money seized in sheriff's office raid of Ohio home, $400 missing

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office seized over $5,000 from Afroman's Ohio home in a raid this August. That money was returned to the rapper on Tuesday, minus $400.

Adams County Sheriff Kimmy Rogers told The Enquirer on Wednesday the issue of the missing cash has been turned over to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, which will oversee the probe.

"It's rare, and all kinds of things can happen," he said about the missing evidence.

NO, nope... sadly, it's not "rare" for the police to steal! And steal they did - you can watch video where news reporters talk about how they were at the police station when the money was returned, and they have it on video, returned minus the $400 that was pocketed by shit police. Also, far worse, the police used "kidnapping" as an excuse to get a search warrant... KIDNAPPING? Afroman kidnapping? What bullshite. I heard Afroman is going to sue, and he should.

They did a good job with the arrests but I doubt the LAPD will be held accountable for their crimes.

It likely is in the hands of the District Attorney's Department  now - they may well just slap them on the wrists - if they want to go hardcore they could likely charge them under California's version of the RICO laws.

I hate Elizabeth Holmes

Screenshot-from-2022-12-05-18-54-48.png

She's not just narcissistic, but manipulative, and willing to throw anyone under the bus. What she did was put numerous people in jeopardy, and basically played with people's lives, not to mention their savings. I followed this trial, and in my mind she clearly manipulated the court and judge. She is one of those evil people that has that "gift". Yes, evil. Nothing wrong with having a failed start-up, happens all the time every day. However, lying, manipulating, putting people at risk, all while you know your product is failing - that's far more than mere fraud.

Columbus gunman who refused to testify against cousin in murder case gets 33 years to life

https://www.dispatch.com/story/news/courts/2022/12/06/columbus-man-gets-33-years-to-life-in-prison-for-robbery-turned-murder/69702155007/

The gunman in a 2017 robbery-turned-murder decided last fall in the middle of trial not to testify against his cousin, whom Franklin County prosecutors said orchestrated the robbery.

As a result, the murder case against the alleged instigator, 29-year-old William Knox Jr., crumbled. Knox took a plea deal and received a five-year prison sentence for aggravated robbery.

On Tuesday, Kailan Ellison, 25, faced the brunt of the consequences for the death of 24-year-old Martrise Maddox-Suddith and received a worse sentence than he would have received if he had testified against Knox.

Franklin County Common Pleas Judge Andy Miller sentenced Ellison to life in prison with the chance for parole after serving at least 33 years. This comes after Ellison pleaded guilty in October to aggravated murder with a firearm specification.

Actions and consequences - hopefully the family of the victim can heal a little now that this scum is in jail.

Colorado gay club shooting suspect charged with hate crimes

https://apnews.com/article/crime-shootings-colorado-hate-crimes-springs-b9be567920a55986c57af59535ac9f61

The shooting came more than a year after Aldrich was arrested following a standoff with SWAT teams after authorities say Aldrich threatened to stockpile guns, ammo and body armor to become the “next mass killer.”

***But charges were dropped, the record is sealed and prosecutors say they can’t legally talk about what happened.

What. The. FUCK!

I want to know why charges were dropped?? Whoever is responsible for dropping the charges is implicit in murder and aggravated assault. Record is sealed - this is some serious bullshite by authorities to try and cover their asses. God, I'm angry 😠

Colorado has gotten really jacked up on legal matters concerning criminals.

For example the government wants to limit gun rights - but they also recently approved allowing convicted drug dealers and car thieves owning guns........

This was a recent statement by our State Attorney General vis a vis the high rate of auto thefts (WE ARE NUMBER 1!!!!):

“After someone commits a third or fourth car theft in, say, three months," Weiser said, "they should be kept in (jail) with a really high bond, because you got a sense they are going to get out they’re going to commit more crimes. ...In Jeffco, that’s what they do.”

A big WTF on this one - does he think if they have only stolen (and managed to have been caught) one or two (or possibly three) cars they are not gonna steal more?

I don't even know what to say, just bat-shit-crazy legislation!

https://www.chieftain.com/story/news/2022/03/28/colorado-amend-new-law-limiting-arrests-weapons-possessions/9426303002/

When Pueblo police responded to reports of gunfire near the 1800 block of East 5th Street earlier this month, they said they found an armed man who had eight previous felony offenses, including several that were drug-related. But legislation that took effect at the beginning of March meant they couldn't arrest him, they said.

Also this -

Right now, the severity of the sentence for stealing a car depends on how nice it is.

https://www.cpr.org/2022/10/24/colorado-auto-thefts-sentencing/

...generally, stealing a car worth $2,000 or less today is a misdemeanor...Colorado’s auto thefts jumped in just a couple of years, from 22,395 reported thefts in 2019 to 42,094 in 2021

Just unbelievable. I don't know who's responsible for such idiocy, but hopefully whoever was responsible was kicked out of office during the midterms.
