X3 tried all bosses multiple times. I couldn’t crack even one of them. I know as soon as you beat one and get a weapon then you can more easily beat the next one who has a weakness, but I couldn’t even beat one. Finally got through the first boss after getting a few heart tanks

Finally got through the first boss after getting a few heart tanks Still remember them because I was speedrunning the game semi-recently 1. Tunnel rhino: if you dont die in the second half the stage, his attack pattern is really simple. If you do die, he's actually legitimately hard. 2. Blizzard buffalo: as soon as he charges at you, you can trap him in corners by jumping every time he turns around to face you. he'll repeatedly just ram the wall for an easy kill. 3. Neon Tiger: you can stand right in front of him when he's shooting ray splasher. lol 4. Crush crawfish: instant kill w/ triad thunder but you need to time it perfect. Otherwise very simple fight. 5. Gravity beetle: just shoot ray splasher. jump over him when he corners you. 6. Blast Hornet: Charge gravity well, but pause the game and change the weapon right after you launch it. Unpause, select gravity well, and repeat. 7. Volt catfish: just shoot tornado fang. 8. Toxic seahorse: if you shoot it with frost shield in the air, you can mash ice when it hits the ground for 1 hit per frame. lol Edited September 15, 2021 by inasuma
Kguillemette | 1,542
I have been working on a collection project as long as I can remember. A long time ago it was Stamps, then coins, magic the gathering, heavy metal CDs, video games, and then subsets of video games, like JRPGs, individual systems, consoles, box art, etc. 1
AstralSoul | 502
2001: The year I started buying my own games. Up until this point my parents bought me a game or two every birthday and Christmas, and really only had a dozen or so games between my SNES and N64. My NES was broken and long gone before this. So now that I had a disposable income of my own and a means to get to stores whenever I wanted, I bought a GBA and GameCube this year and started buying almost every game I could afford. I didn't consider myself a collector yet but it was at this point I started buying a significant amount of games and amassing them, going from one dozen to a few hundred in a few short years. On top of buying a lot of current (at the time) gen games, I scoured game stores for old games I never got to play for SNES, N64 and PS1. I ended up with a lot. Games were cheap back then though. 2006: Wii came out and with the advent of virtual console I (stupidly) looked at my 200+ old games collection and thought virtual was so much better and I could replace my physical media with digital. It didn't take long before I regretted it although the extra money I made from all the selling was nice. I sold 90% of my games and only kept my absolute favorites. 2011: At this point I had been in a gaming lull for several years. Aside from the 100+ virtual console games I had, I barely played any new games. I started to miss the old days of gaming and cartridges and buying old games. It had been several years since GameStop and other stores in my area sold old games and parents have always been super strict about me buying stuff online so that was out of the question. But at the end of 2011, something magical happened. Skyrim released, which by today's standards just seemed redundant, but it was the first time I felt pure joy in a new games release since 2006. On top of that a coworker told me about a used game store that just opened up,and visiting that store just opened up a collector's Pandora's box in me. 2013: After getting back into retro gaming and collecting for the first time in 10 or so years, I ended up going all out, buying every game I ever wanted and used to own. Within 2 years I went from less than 100 games to 300+. Maybe to some that's not a lot but it was to me. It was at this point I started visiting NintendoAge and took part in the collector community and was the first time I identified as a collector. 2021: While it has been several years since I have collected seriously I've become smarter about what I buy. I've sold a chunk of my collection that I amassed throughout the last 8 years because I've been running out of space and realized I had a bunch of games I really don't care for, but also because in this time I got married, started a family and bought a house so I needed the money. When the pandemic last year, my spending habits became a lot more frugal. Now I still buy stuff but I rarely sell and instead just buy the stuff I want and actually plan to play
ScaryD | 235
As a child I had a decent amount of video games which I proceeded to sell off in 2009 because I thought I wasn’t interested in games anymore. At the time I didn’t even get that much money off of the games or systems I traded in including the GameCube component cable. Once I completed the transaction I had instant regret. In 2013 I started buying video games again which turned into a collection. I have bought back almost everything I had sold minus the manuals I had and of course that component cable. Also still need a lot of the Nintendo Powers I gave away but I continue to chip away at it.
