Parisoft 23 Member ·
I ported Locomalito's L'Abbaye des morts for the NES and now it's got a physical release thanks to Broke Studio. You have a chance to play it for the 1st time on your console or to play it again with that NES vibe we love. NES version: https://www.brokestudio.fr/product/labbaye-des-morts-nes/ FC version: https://www.brokestudio.fr/product/labbaye-des-morts-fc/
Sumez 2,613 Member ·
I played the free version, and it's a great little game! I really like that the port opts to go for an actual NES style aesthetic, compared to the ZX Spectrum one it was originally designed around. Gives it much more of a unique quality. 1

darkchylde28 1,546 Member ·
Is there a ROM version available to purchase? I'm totally down with giving this a shot, but don't know that I'm interested enough to pick up a full on cart.

Try the free version, and if you like it, buy the NES one https://locomalito.com/ Edited September 1, 2021 by Sumez

Would love to support these folks and enjoy their work, but outside of Kickstarter, it seems like most folks just aren't releasing ROMs for purchase. I'll put the ROM on my itch.io page for free, but it will take a while out in respect for those who bought a physical copy.

Thank you, but it wasn't my intention to ask for or pressure anyone about having this put out for free. I, and I imagine others, are perfectly happy to pay for a ROM copy, but just don't have the money to invest in all of the homebrews coming out these days to spent $40+ every time one is released. I absolutely understand and respect the timing of a digital release.

I'm in favor of selling the ROM alongside the physical version, I just didn't do it because I have plans to give it for free, so it wouldn't make much sense. 3
