Load all images on the page displayed, not load-when-it's-in-my-face

Is there a way to load all images, like in the good ol' internet days?

I don't like to have stuff keep popping out as I scroll, the page keeps shifting up as you desperately try to read something. Not sure if I'm the only one who finds this annoying.

Or maybe it's a Firefox setting, but I have problems only with select forums like this one.

Yeah, I'm with you: I really hate that the internet is moving towards this shitty scheme full stop.  It's almost as bad as every damn link being a roll over so you have to navigate your pointer around the screen like it's some sort of obstacle course just to avoid shit popping up and getting in the way of what you want to see or click...
