Been out of the game for a while, Dreamcast and PS1 prices are nuts

What's contributed to the later systems gaining steam? Hearing that PS2 games are shooting up is nuts. PS2 games, for the most part, I thought were pretty cheap. Granted I've never been much into collecting PS2 games.

General COVID inflation. People who grew up playing those systems reaching an age to treat them as 'collectibles'; remember it's now 21 years since the PS2 came out. For PS3 and Vita, the rumour and then announcement that the digital store for those systems would shut down caused a big price spike; that decision was reversed for now, and prices have come down some, but not all the way back.
