Please help!!!!!!! Take it back!!!! I only kid, I don't know myself, i just bought one as well, although i have had mine for a few days, i haven't had the chance to open it! I hear a 20 dollar subscription to nintendo online is a good thing to do, plus you get free games. I also have yet to do so, but i was thinking bout getting a group of folks together to do a group buy of the family plan. Buy your games from walmart if you so choose, or maybe amazon, because they are 10 bux cheaper than everywhere else!

Richardhead | 2,925
Play BOTW. After that, Look at it hooked up to the dock while you watch movies using a different console, play Nintendo, play PS Vita games and pretty much everything else you do. Such a great system

Reed Rothchild | 9,963 Editorials Team ·
Seriously though, for a open, not epic, not 400 hour RPG.... I dunno. If you've been out of the scene for 20 hours you might be surprised by how RPG elements have crept into other games. I guess Breath of the Wild is a safe choice. Or maybe Stardew Valley if you want something more old school. Or maybe Assassin's Creed Black Flag. Or Dragon Quest XI. Hell, the Bioshocks have RPG elements. The list is really endless. What are your favorite games?

Mario 35 is a free digital game. Go to the eshop from your home menu. Link's Awakening is a solid choice.

I believe you have to have the Nintendo online membership to be able to play Mario 35 though. The game is free, the online membership to play any game online is not. It's $20 iirc. As for games, well there are some solid Pokemon, Mario, fire emblem, and Zelda games if you like the staples. As others have mentioned, lots of free NES and SNES games if you get the online membership. Honestly the switch has everything. So many good games. Google whatever series you really like and put switch after it and I'm sure you'll find some stuff or related games that look good to you.
Deadeye | 1,601 Homebrew Team ·
Maybe if we can narrow down your tastes. 3D, 2D, or both? What genres do you like? Length of time preference?
Tabonga | 2,533
I am pretty big on strategy games and srpgs. There are a lot of them on the switch - more so than any other console I can think of. The Sega Genesis Classics is a good bet for a lot of good games if you like retro. https://genesisclassics.sega.com/ I generally prefer long games and those genres are amenable to that,

Californication | 1,491
I don't own a switch yet, but the small list of games I want are: Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Bubble Bobble 4, Gunlord X, Cuphead, Ori, Tiny Barbarian DX, Collection of Mana, New Super Mario Bros Deluxe, Mario Kart, and maybe Links Awakening. Edit: Lumines Remastered and Tetris 99 are puzzle games. Edited October 18, 2020 by Californication
Deadeye | 1,601 Homebrew Team ·
27 buttons? No more than button then a PS1 dualshock. Link's awaking might be a good intro for you. You are familiar with the original game, it isn't crazy long, and will give you a chance to ease into the controller and system. Suggestions: Blaster Master Zero (Revamp and re-imagining of Blaster Master, highly recommended it) Bloodstained Curse of the Moon (Simliar to Castlevania III) The Messenger (Similar to Ninja Gaiden) Paper Mario Origami King River City Girls (A brawler in the style of River City Ransom) Jay and Silent Bob Mall Brawl (NES Homebrew brawler ported) Haunted Halloween 86 (NES Homebrew platformer ported) Wonder Boy the dragon's trap (HD remake of the Master System / Turbografx classic) Sonic Mania (If you are a fan of Sonic / Sonic 2) Mr. Driller Drill Land (A sequel and expansion of the arcade / PS1 game) Captain Toad Treasure Tracker (If you like casual puzzle games) Octopath Traveler (Traditional RPG) Kamiko (Overhead action game, like zelda without dungeons)
