Pretty bad, but not bad enough to be offensive or annoying. The songs are catchy, and I can at least understand why it has such a strong appeal, even if that appeal is primarily to 14 year old girls (or girls who were 14 when the band was popular).

Kinda the definition of a 4/10, going by the descriptions given to them.

I had several bands in mind for my pick, but I wanted to choose one that probably wouldn't have come up otherwise. They're basically the exact definition of an 8/10 for me. I would have went higher, but I don't think their last few albums were as good as the earlier ones.

3/10. First time I've listened to this band. They have always been a pass to me because of the "heart-ogram?" logo.

The music itself is not bad actually. I just can't get past the vocals.

That's where I first heard them. I felt like they changed their sound a bit in their albums after the show ended in an attempt to be more appealing to commercial radio.

I only know of them cuz of a guy I knew on another forum. Never listened to their music.

I remember that. I think there was already a band in the US called HIM, so they had to change their name for a short period until they got the rights to the name.

Never heard of them. I checked out a couple of the songs.

I quite liked Into the Night. Much better than I was expecting. But then they have a song called Join Me in Death? Seriously? We don't need another Don't Fear the Reaper, guys. Shitty song too.

They seem like a 5 or 6 out of 10. They're talented but the extreme goth pandering is too much.

I like old HIM around the time of Love Metal. There are other bands that do this style of emo-metal better though. Katatonia blows them out the water, for example. HIM gets a 6/10 out of me.

I heard of them because of Bam and I like them. Going to listen to them now, thanks for reminding me.

I've also seen them live once, it was a good show.

They seemed to drop off after that. I thought their first four albums were great, then Dark Light was pretty good, but their last three were just average at best.

7/10 closing in on 8/10 for me personally. As others ahave mentioned, their recent albums are not that great compared to their first few albums. That is why they get a 7 instead of an 8 from me.

They covered Wicked Game by Chris Isaak and Solitary Man by Neil Diamond. I thought those were pretty good. Then again I like Don't Fear the Reaper. Ville Valo also did background vocals on Something Diabolical by The Bloodhound Gang.

Don't Fear the Reaper is a great song. Unfortunately it overshadows everything else by BOC.
