Strange | 1,727
Looks like we missed out on a once in a lifetime collectible. Link to auction Description: Apple Macintosh SE owned by Ivanka Trump when she attended boarding school in the late 1990s. Includes a term paper written by her. Nearly 20 years ago, I went to a tag sale at a local elementary school in Wallingford, CT. I bought an Apple Macintosh SE (FDHD) computer thinking I was going to convert it into a fish tank, which I never did. I was recently doing some house clean-up and I found the old Mac hidden away. I powered it up and to my surprise, the computer not only works, but it was Ivanka Trump’s from when she was a student at Choate Rosemary Hall (class of 2000) in Wallingford! I know this because there is a term paper on it written by Ivanka called The Negative Confessions vs. The Ten Commandments. (Aside: the word Commandments is regularly misspelled as Commandants) I wrote to Ms. Trump to ask if she would like her old high school computer but she never responded. So now, I offer this up as a strange artifact from the Trump history. Thanks for viewing! ———————— Okay, so there’s no way to tell for sure that it was hers unless she herself says something, but put me in the skeptical camp. Dude could have absolutely rewound the clock on the computer and typed that and tried to cash out on some Trump fanboys. Everyone knows I’m not a Trump fan so this has no value to me, but hopefully some MAGA fan is thrilled with their purchase? (According to the guys on AtariAge, it’s overpriced for a Macintosh SE)

avatar! | 1,933
...wow, back in the day when computers were made in the USA! Ivanka or not, I'm a bit surprised this only sold for $250. I thought these were quite collectible?
