Tabonga | 2,317
Our rough collie Jack gets terrified by thunder, high winds or firecrackers. Even after the noise stops he is freaked out for quite awhile - if the noise keeps up (like on the 4th ofJuly) we have a doggie downer which, while it calms him down, makes him like a zombie - which I really don't like to see. Mrs.Tabonga read about these on the net (they go by different names) and we thought we would try it. We ordered one - it started thundering just now and Jack went into his frightened mode. We put it on him and he settled down right away - he was panting heavily a bit but he is now lying down at my feet and seems pretty normal. They are very easy to put on - and it beats having to drug him. This is the one we got for him: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FHTIH94/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Heh - he is now sleeping - which never happens right after he has been scared. Link | 2,709
I’m gonna tell my neighborhood dog owners about this. A lot of them are having trouble with the fireworks. Thanks.

Scrobins | 1,725 Moderator ·
My folks were too cheap to buy thunder coats, so they made a couple of their own with old pillow cases, foam stuffing, and a lot of duct tape. Our dogs looked incredibly stupid...but chill.
