The enigma of Video Game Critic's Urban Champion review

The Video Game Critic's  2006 review says "Our high score: 9,380" at the bottom. But the NES version doesn't keep score other than showing your highest round.  The VS arcade version has a score, but why would he have been playing that one? This is a review of the NES game and I don't think that he uses emulators. My best guess is that he played the wrong rom on a flash cart, assuming that VS games work on a regular NES.

I left a message on his message board last night but haven't gotten a response (and not expecting one) so curiosity remains.

The screenshot is from the NES version, so maybe it was a score from a different game since it looks like it was added on at the end. You can play VS games on a flash cart, so that's a possibility.
