    • 10/10 - One of your very favorite artists of all time.
    • 9/10 - Killer fucking band. Or artist.
    • 8/10 - Great sound, great songs, great albums.
    • 7/10 - Very good, but not quite great.
    • 6/10 - Pretty good. More than a few songs you like. You'd entertain the thought of seeing them live if they were in the area. Or still alive.
    • 5/10 - They're okay, but maybe not something you'll go out of your way to listen to.
    • 4/10 - Meh. There may be a song or two, or an album that you dig, but you'd rather listen to other stuff.
    • 3/10 - Not very good. You will more likely than not turn the station if they come on the radio.
      0
    • 2/10 - Not your cup of tea at all. Some people might like this, but you are not one of them.
    • 1/10 - Horrible in every way.
      0
    • 0/10 - In the running for worst artist/musician of all time. You would rather take a cheese grater to your face than listen to this.
  2. 2. Favorite Frontman

The ReReinke Brothers costume shop in Littleton use a selection of that song in a room of their haunted house that they put on every Halloween.  Definitely freaks the kids out a little. 😁  it's pretty cool if tame by today's standards.  More of an old school funhouse really.  We go every year.

The Reinke Brothers'  family  were my sister's neightbors in Englewood  - my younger brother and they were very good friends.

I'm not typically a guitar rock kinda guy, but there is something truly amazing about Pink Floyd.  Sure, their music tapered off in the 80s but they will always be legendary.

The Discovery box set is one of my treasured music possessions, right up there with the Beatles Stereo box set from 2009.  9/10 for me.

0/10.  I can not stand Pink Floyd. Now, I will admit they are a talented band and can understand why people like them. I just find it boring and dull.

Have you heard the first album when they were Austin Powers music?

I think when people vote zero, they not only need to claim it, but post a pic with a cheese grater on the face. And there better be blood. 😛

I think it calls for something much more severe- they should be forced to listen to at least 1 hour of Vogon poetry (more depending on the musical group - so maybe 40 hours in the case here.

Only thing I don't really like about Pink Floyd are their obsessive fans. Amazingly talented band but I don't think I've seen a fan base with their heads so far up their own asses beside maybe Dream Theater. David Gilmour constantly getting his knob polished from the guitar community gets a little old too. Ignoring all that I voted 8 for what I personally think of the band and their contribution to music. Some of my best trips have been listening to Floyd too.

I apologize in advance for reviving a old topic as I missed it... but I absolutely love Pink Floyd. My all time favorite rock band. I have gone to every tour Waters has put on since 2006. Sometimes seeing the same show twice. I don't think I can adequately put into words my love for this band. I enjoy all three era's of Floyd and their solo work. I have managed to collect just about every album on vinyl (original pressings). I am a straight up fanboy. That is all.

This is so way old but I don't care.  I'm voting in a bunch of other music threads too.  For this one I just am explaining my 10, they are absolutely one of my favorite bands of all time but I can't stand Momentary Lapse of Talent and I think Division Bell is pretty bad on the whole too.  I couldn't let that drop them from a 10 though because the circumstances of those albums (functionally close to solo albums) - though I love to hear David Gilmour sing and think he's a great collaborating composer and guitarist he is NOT my favorite person when he takes the creative lead or oversees/directs songwriting teams.  I'm willing to try to listen to em again but there are many faces of phases of Floyd. (Atom Heart Mother, Meddle, and Obscured by Clouds are my ideal Floyd.  One could argue these albums have lots of Richard Wright influence so I think that's where I like to be.  Dark Side I love too but I was always careful to not listen to it too much, one of those albums where it's so easy to do that and spoil it for yourself.  Syd-era is all good with me too and his solo albums as well.  More and Ummagumma I like for their purpose, and I actually prefer More to Wish You Were Here.   Loved seeing Grantchester Meadows from Ummagumma mentioned in this thread.  A Saucerful of Secrets, the true wild card of their library that somehow is a follow-up and a spiritual debut all at once, has some really interesting bits, and it's the last studio LP I need if anyone wants to trade video games for it lolol no but really its quite a nice listen and I dig Waters' humor in Corporal Cregg).

I'm not saying Waters-led stuff is perfect either.  Like everyone was saying in here The Wall can be a drag and on that note Final Cut can also be a drag (although perhaps ironically it sounds more fresh today compared to the ubiquitous Wall).  For me, Animals with its much wider theme was Waters' true magnum opus.  Much like the Beatles, the classic line-up of 4 need each other to bring out each others' best parts out and to become Pink Floyd.  Their solo albums just really aren't it for me (no, not even Wright).
