MiamiSlice | 3,089
I've had this book for a while but finally decided to clean it up. Cool thing about Bestine is it makes paper transparent (temporarily). Done deal. Also had this box for over a year, finally decided to address this aftermath of someone removing a security sticker. This one involved Bestine + having to get my nail under the metal to scrape it off. Fortunately I was able to remove it all.

Dried (was fast to) I went in with an artists white rubber eraser and did streaks, swirls, and good pressure and got off like 95% of the ink from the ball point pen, the other one maybe 60%. I need to try this. I have a DS box with a pen mark right on the front.

Yeah give it a try on a few types of stuff you'd consider more expendable and go light, like dip it (q-tip) in, then press it on a paper towel or whatever so it's not dripping wet. You want to weaken the ink bonds, not dissolve your way through the paper rubbing into it soaked. It won't remove it all, but it does take out the worst and opened the door to where I took that couple pages there with the white art eraser. And smooth move there on the bestine, WoP books are nice, I still have never recovered the MM2 book (never had Bases Loaded) yet I did get back all what I had of the other normal ones and the few I never had over time either. They're such dopey hot take fun that are just so so bad they're good to read, and given the age group, fast. Also your stunt with the metal sticker from hell I did one of those a few months back, didn't have bestine(never have had it), but went at it using the finger nail and a mix of windex and alcohol again damp, not soaked, and got it off. Problem is, the damage was done by the original owner as they ate up some of the fron tof the GBA SP cobalt box, but I got off the rest without further tear. And since it wasn't going anywhere but for me, I hated that white fuzz staring at me on the front so I painted it in which isn't great for collector value, not that I care, but didn't like the eye sore across the room. Tanooki | 4,930
Here's a fun one, the game at least, and it wasn't too hard to fix, spaced out time consuming a little, but not bad. Not my image, but didn't take one ahead of time. The label was curled up, layers spread, a couple folds, white bits, basically it got sheared off almost but held on. Cleaned the area. Glue stick shavings with a razor under the pulled area and then some, compressed it and wiped away the excess and let it set for a little. After that came the touch ups. A mix of black crayola marker, but also after I remembered I had this fine Japanese black pen meant for fine writing (calligraphy pen), maker is Tombow. If interested it's made in Japan, WS-BH150. I did repeated layers of ink starting first with the marker over and over. Ink it, set, wipe with paper towel, smudge with thumb, set a bit more, re-do process. I did this quite a few times over the afternoon, hit it with the calligraphy pen too towards the end. It was a mix at start to coat, then dab, then tap the tip or brush the tip over the spaces, over and over. Sure it won't be perfect again, but as the game now sell for $150-200 and I'm in for $110 I'm happy (less if you figure I got the manual for $1.50 a couple weeks ago.) You can see the fine diagonal line below is there still, just black not white, the smaller white bits are all gone. All in all it blended out quite well, wouldn't hold up to alcohol, but neither would the rest of the label as the cart is old enough in the SNES life where they cheaped out on stickers anyway. 3
MiamiSlice | 3,089
Another one in the books! These were the gnarliest stickers I've ever dealt with. Old, really thick, some of them were like the stickers you put on a skateboard... I have no idea what these stickers were for but man were they hard to remove. I used a lot of Bestine with paper towels and then followed up in a few places with alcohol. End result came out really good! 5
RH | 4,895
I have found some bad stickers, but usually those were the ones made of super-strong plastic and an actual thin layer of glue, which makes it very hard for the bestine to get under and do it's magic. I've not seen stickers like this though. Regardless, good work. And do you use Besting or n-Heptine? I've found that n-Heptine can be a tad cheaper, and it is the active ingredient in Bestine, so it's the same thing.

I use Bestine because I bought a canister of it when I first learned about it and I'm still using the same canister today. It hasn't run out yet.

Qtip, bestine. Try in a very small spot first.

Like @a3quit4s said, Bestine / heptane on a Q-tip. Moisten the whole thing, then rub gently to see if it comes off. If it doesn't you can then try getting your nail under that bottom left corner and slowly peeling it while moistening the remaining sticker with Bestine. Once you get a little bit up, you can start rubbing the Q-tip with Bestine along the underside where you are peeling it. It will seep toward the adhesive and loosen it as you go. Most important thing to do is go slow and never let it get too dry.
MiamiSlice | 3,089
This is listed nearby but the lights and LCD don’t power on. Does anyone have advice on fixing it? I would love to own it but I would really want it to work
Tanooki | 4,930
Probably could be as simple as a rotted battery box, popped wire, busted trace a simple solder job could fix after potential clean up. $150 or not, given what legos alone go for these days, to get that display piece at that price seems generous. 1

Not necessary an easy troubleshoot project but simple circuits tend to be simple to troubleshoot too. I wouldn't worry about it being broken if you aren't worried about potentially needing to do some soldering work. But yeah, I'm thinking it will something even simpler like Tanooki said.
The Count | 526
Anybody want to try their hand at saving these eight commons for $20? https://www.ebay.com/itm/364533339572?hash=item54dfe155b4%3Ag%3AkKAAAOSw9F5lLbxR&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAAwMWnU9OuKuKxVxVGVp8JCVsxoHHXoJRzeBSr4o5lv70S%2BpQ8cpW2Q%2F6futhjbreZBcEsx%2BTvzZ5V396wDZIP3RvRtstnGaHCVRvVYF3MOvyE0nl9HCYWUgEAofKIQ4yhWvlCmYnkdpc9wKWHWwiFzj9widx9vkSujOeoBJhwGwQ4Mqc9xz2JZLrPlw1rZQmRBX828QH%2B1RFaybHHLZWIKi1YF6stCCpd2pN616%2BbXpS1YY9cScBY0%2FX2Xy333clNlg%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR5Lp3OvnYg&LH_BIN=1

Also, is that NHL Hockey label legit, or did someone replace it? I only ask because I know towards the end of life for the SNES, Majesco was printing white labels with red borders, and I feel there might have been some white-only labels as well, but I could be wrong. RH | 4,895
@Splain my guy tells me that they probably just need a cleaning and/or that guys N64 and SNES likely needed one too. You probably have a small pile of working games there. I definitely would have snagged them I had the cash at the moment.
