LeatherRebel5150 914 Member ·
I know, I know, "not another one of these kind of threads," "it's supply/demand." But I was bored this morning before class. So I haven't really checked into this stuff in a very long time. I remember buying things like N64 arcade sticks, reality glove, reality vest, etc for $20-$25 at most. The prices people are asking on these things have gotten stupid. $140 for a reality vest sold, $60-70 for the glove, $70 for the Arcade Shark Stick! Some Pictures of the peripherals for those who haven't seen them before N64 Arcade Shark Mad Catz Stick Reality Quest Glove Reality Vest Boomerang Controller
A_Feisty_Pickle 227 Member ·
I grabbed an arcade shark a few years back for $10. Only time it gets used is when we play Mario Party (previous winner has to play with the fight stick).
RH 4,211 Member ·
MadCatz made absolute trash. I know that with time, anything can gain value and if this stuff becomes more and more rare, I guess I see the appeal, but I agree. It feels weird to see this stuff skyrocket in value. It just doesn't feel right because it's junk.
OptOut 7,999 Member ·
If you're going to spend stupid money on ridiculous N64 peripherals, frankly it's Train Simulator or GTFO: 6
DoctorEncore 3,600 Member ·
I guess it's not too surprising given the age of this stuff. We should be seeing an N64/PlayStation/Saturn price spike any time now, right? We've got gamers who started on these systems 25 years ago making good money as they enter their 30s. Or are we already approaching the PS2/GC/Xbox generation? Those systems are 20 years old already. How did I suddenly get so old?

I definitely agree with that statement in regards to our current situation, but I was speaking more in generalities (i.e. the entirety of 2020). I just don't know much about collecting outside of NES and a little bit of SNES, so I was mostly just wondering aloud about those less familiar systems. Although it seems like NES has been the hot stuff for years and years now.

It still seems weird to me N64 stuff at the prices they are now and where they have been going. I completed my N64 collection in 2012 and Sculptor's Cut was $60, Beast Wars, Stunt Racer, Super Bowling were all like $10, etc. Makes me feel old

Strange 1,641 Member ·
I’ve heard quite a few game store owners saying N64 stuff is hot right now. They can’t keep any consoles or desirable games on the shelves lately. Maybe that’s extending to peripherals too.
