If you've never read one, you should pick a few up on ebay. For those of you not familiar with them, you read a few pages, then it offers you a choice. Depending on the choice you make it'll send you to a different page in the book. Does that several times, and then you'll reach an ending. I had one that was a road warrior type deal. I remember being in an arena racing to win a tank of gas. I had a device to dump an oil slick behind me to slow the competition. I released it - only after doing that did the book tell me it was a dirt track. Talk about stacking the deck! 2

Reed Rothchild | 9,514 Editorials Team ·
One last one. I've started hanging on to some of the novelizations I run across. There have been many that I got rid of I wish I'd kept in hindsight. Since these things are pretty garbage, I usually pass unless they're like $.25-.50. But it's fun to see what I can accumulate

Don't ask my why I wanted that book. This was also before I really started to get into reading books. 3 hours ago, captmorgandrinker said: Choose Your Own Adventure books? I remember reading a Goosebumps book that was a Choose Your Own Adventure style book.....I died like twice before figuring out how to get the "good" ending. I wasn't too much into them but that could of been from the impression of the story continues or you die choosing.

MegaMan52 | 2,442
A few of the things I have besides video games: I've got a giant movie collection with VHS tapes, DVDs, Blu-ray, and some 4K. These are some of the uncommon VHS tapes I've got. The Christopher the Christmas Tree tape is a screener version, which I did not expect to find since the retail version is already uncommon. Anyone here know/remember Mr. Dressup? Apparently Casey and Finnegan, characters from Mr. Dressup, got their own show which I didn't know about until just a few years ago. I used to live on the Vancouver Island, and that Casey and Finnegan VHS tape could've been from any of the Libraries I used to go to. I still have my old Library card. Jiminy Cricket's Christmas isn't really uncommon, but it hasn't gotten an official DVD or Blu-ray release as far as I know. The Mega Man VHS tape contains recordings of eighteen episodes from when the series was shown on Fox Family. The episodes themselves aren't rare by any means and can be found on several DVDs nowadays, but the tape has some cool promo screens. Also I got this tape in 2001/2002, before the series got its first DVD release and when you had to find recordable tapes like this or look on the Internet to watch episodes that weren't released on VHS. Hespeler Hockey Stick autographed by Wayne Gretzky. Back to the Future goodies. An Omega Seamaster 300M Quartz Professional 2541.80.00 Watch. Pierce Brosnan wore the same model in the GoldenEye movie. Just some of the Ninja Turtles items I've got besides the movies and games. My collection of Pogs. Some of my toy cars and models. Hockey Card collection I've had since I was a kid. CRT collection. The first Berenstain Bears book. Some of my Charlie Brown and Snoopy books. The first book about the Titanic, published only about a month after the ship sank. Also a first edition copy of The Man Who Walked Through Time, with a note from the author dated Christmas 1967. Some Mugs. My Camera collection. Yes those Sunglasses have a built-in Camera; they're not ordinary Sunglasses. I've used them a few times. When I wear them, people probably think I'm some weirdo trying to look "cool." It's great, because they have no idea that I'm recording a video. The video above is an example; I bought Japanese copies of Super Mario RPG, Super Mario Land 2, and Mario Tennis and no one knew these Glasses have a Camera. PII | 1,884
@MegaMan52 Can't help wondering what else is in your uncommon VHS collection as I have a good pile of uncommon tapes myself. Just throwin' it out there. That Lunchbox is pretty awesome too!

I have the Gameboy one too, haha, it's fuckin' awesome. I feel like I'm 10 each time I fill it up and crouch down to watch it change, haha, but that's even better. Also, my parents have the Tim Hortons mug, it's a standard for my Dad, it's beat to shit.
Reed Rothchild | 9,514 Editorials Team ·
Here's some more. The Minstrel label of genre stuff, which includes Hardy Boys. I try to get a lot of 70-90s kids chapter books that I grew up with. I had actually completely forgotten about Goblins in the Castle, despite owning it throughout my childhood. But it suddenly jumped into my memory a couple months ago. And then lo and behold the other week I was out of town and happened to find a copy.

MagusSmurf | 577
Oh wow. Bruce Coville has barely passed my mind in probably like 15+ years now but I read a lot of his stuff back in the day. Not quite as much as I did these though:

Not quite as much as I did these though: i was just about to post almost the exact same thing, only with Goosebumps instead of Animorphs. I have the full original run of 62. Don't really feel the need to dive into the subsequent spin-off series, although that may change with time. the Goosebumps 2000 series (25 books) had a couple of sequels to original series stories, so i will always feel that pull. back to Bruce Coville, that "My Teacher Flunked the Planet" cover resonates deep in me, and i haven't thought about that book in DECADES. i might have to grab the four books in that series. Put them next to my "Wayside School is Falling Down" and "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" books.
Tabonga | 2,317
I just got this from ebay - it is from the early fifties and was a Kraft Food mail in item (which in the days of early television were much more popular). These usually go for a pretty steep price - not only was this one relatively cheap but the colors on it are very vibrant. Tabonga | 2,317
I just got this kickstarter in the mail today: If you aren't familiar with them, Gamelyn Games "Tiny Epic" series are pretty neat. I have about 10 of them and they are pretty compact - the boxes are about the size of a regular SNES box. Some of them have two boxes since you can get deluxe and/or extra components. (This one had two boxes.)
Tabonga | 2,317
I picked up this off of ebay - one of my brothers got one for Christmas in 1960 and we played with it a lot. This is a hard to find set - this one looks to be complete with some very minor damage. The bulldozer, truck and trailer are in great shape - they were made of a hard plastic that was pretty brittle so the small parts often broke on them. I've been collecting them since I was 13, about the same age I took video game collecting seriously. 15 years later, and I can finally display it all properly Spoiler 1
