Oh no John Delaney dropped out. Did that bust everyone's brackets?

He didn't pull that whole "suspending my campaign" crap did he?  I HATE when candidates do that...why don't they just say I'm dropping out and I wish my remaining contenders well?

If they suspend instead of drop out of their campaigns, does that mean they can keep their contributions to run for their local office? Probably would help a ton if you ran for statewide office like Senator or governor compared to the the campaign dollars your likely opponents would have.

Campaign finance laws are silly and hard for me to understand.

Last I checked if you suspend you still had access to fund and fund raising on a campaign, you're just not actively out on the road, so your name can even still show up on ballots but you've just publicly given up trying for all intents and purposes.  If you quit, you can't raise more campaign funds for a dead show and depending on laws, stuff could even have to be reimbursed too potentially.

Personally and I know it won't be popular here, I hope sanders and warren get shown the door, party illuminati or whatever, they're so far into the socialst-democrat if not outright socialist level policies and damn the consequences thinking I hope they give in or get shown the door.  I miss when the democratic party actually weren't just a bunch of social screaming hypocrites and fire starters, when they tried to work to find some kind of middle ground, maybe lose one thing to gain another which seemed to work nice and fine during the 80s and 90s for instance.  Now being a finanically and socially responsible democrat seems to make you a pariah.  I see a few people who would be pretty decent, quite few though, and sadly seems at this rate more or less just 1-2 are even in contention now sadly.  The DNC needs far less 'squad' and bernie/sanders troublemaker types calling the shots.

Hear hear! I don't agree with a lot of your politics I have read, but I am totally with you on this one. I don't recognize either party anymore.

I've grown from near poverty having to sell my collection just to stay afloat and brought up 3 kids and supported my wife using the status quo. Plain old hard work got me here.  Plain old hard work is what allows me to continue climbling the ladder of the middle class, allowing my income to steadily outpace my cost of living. I feel as if the social democrats want people to skip the whole "hard work" step. I stood with democrats for over a decade because they were the party of opportunity and equality. It seems that Republicans want that more now. Both, however, have boiled their entire party into maybe 3 or 4 hot buttons.

Edit: on a side note, I just realized the all is off topic, I'll move any further posts to the politics thread.

What a shit show in Iowa. Yikes.

It's bad, but memories are short.

In 2012, they (the GOP) announced Romney won the Iowa Caucus. Two weeks(!) later, it's revealed that Santorum won. That was a pretty big oopsy. Especially since it gave Romney a pretty big boost.

And it was forgotten well before the primaries were finished.

Sean Hannity is a savage lol already calling the election rigged by democrats.

I wonder if he knows that caucusing isnt voting.

I legit cannot believe his viewership is so high. Maybe people are just watching because its so insane and out of touch with reality.  I would love to see a heat map of it

He saved up some actual fake news to post during the caucuses too. 40% of the country is ready to believe anything if "DEMOCRAT BAD".

Sadly goes to show the lack of research and understanding people have for the candidates they THINK they want to vote for.

Congratulations to Trump for being the first person to win both the Republican and the Democrat caucus in a state at the same time.

Seriously though that was a clown fiesta. Like last time it should be so easy to beat out Trump in the election but the Democrats just can't seem to pull themselves together.

It is, so I won't drag this down further other than to say this short reply.  Scary isn't it? You're right, pull away those 3-4 hot button issues, and strangely enough the GOP is looking like the party of opportunity and equality now which I think more should both pay attention to, and find disturbing.
