Reed Rothchild 8,527 Editorials Team ·
Master thread with standings Ratings key: 10 - One of your very favorite artists of all time.9 - Killer fucking band. Or artist.8 - Great sound, great songs, great albums.7 - Very good, but not quite great.6 - Pretty good. More than a few songs you like. You'd entertain the thought of seeing them live if they were in the area. Or still alive.5 - They're okay, but maybe not something you'll go out of your way to listen to.4 - Meh. There may be a song or two, or an album that you dig, but you'd rather listen to other stuff.3 - Not very good. You will more likely than not turn the station if they come on the radio.2 - Not your cup of tea at all. Some people like this, but you are not one of them.1 - Horrible in every way.0 - In the running for worst artist/musician of all time. You would rather take a cheese grater to your face than listen to this.

SuperJimtendo 968 Member ·
The problem with 90s male R&B groups is that they spent their whole career being 90s male R&B groups but then bone thugs released crossroads and Put them all to shame.... mbd39 1,864 Member ·
6/10 At least they're much better than Color Me Badd, maybe do a music debate on them next. They've got the vocal harmonies. Motown Philly is a fun song.

JamesRobot 5,311 Events Team ·
Overall I give em a 4 but Motownphilly is hype. Really I prefer New Edition, the predecessor and inspiration for the New Jack Swing era whose members spun off with the group Bell Biv DeVoe around the same time. For me, BBD is about on par with Boyz II Men but Bobby really comes on top of the post New Edition era. Boyz II Men have the longevity and fanbase though. Code Monkey 1,865 Member ·
Funny gaming related story. Back in the mid 1990s I got my first CD player for Christmas and got only 1 CD with it, it was Boyz II Men: II. At the same time I was heavily into Doom so I would play the CD while I played the game and to this day every time I hear Boyz II Men, I immediately think of blowing away imps with a shotgun and cutting people in half with a chainsaw.

I have to admit, whoever thought up getting Boyz and Carey together to sing a ballad, that was sheer marketing genius.
