tbone3969 | 316
Does anyone know what type of 3-d glasses came with Rad Racer in the US? Can I just buy any old paper red & blue 3-d glasses? I actually need a manual as well. Thanks.
tbone3969 | 316
I have the 5-screw non Rev-A version if that matters. I want to find the glasses that would have been in the box with this game. Thanks.
TDIRunner | 2,922
If you want 3D glasses for playing the game, any traditional red and blue 3D glasses will work. There was nothing unique about the glasses that came with the game. If you are wanting the specific glasses that came with the game for collecting purposes, that's obviously a little different. I can show you a picture of mine if you wish. I'll have to dig my box out to see which version I have. But I would think you could Google an image of the glasses pretty easily. Rad Racer was the first individual NES cart my family purchased after we got our NES, and I still have that copy today along with the box, manual and glasses. That game holds a pretty special place in my heart, so it's obviously not going anywhere. Edited October 1 by TDIRunner 2

I tracked down that manual. Now onto the glasses.
RH | 5,237
I can't imagine Square sourced a manufacture to specially make these glasses. I'm not a 3D glasses collector but I never recall seeing black, squarish 3D glasses like this, except in Rad Racer. I only point this out because I wonder where they sourced these and if replacements aren't hard to come by if you know where to look. I could be wrong though. @Code Monkey (or anyone else) are there any distinguishing marks on the glasses? My uncle had this game and I remember the pair as a kid, but I don't remember them having any markings. But of course, a 10 year old kid isn't really paying attention to those types of details. Code Monkey | 2,152
There are no unique markings on the glasses anywhere. 1
Tanooki | 5,142
Beat me to it, have the same black framed pair and they're just common old school red+blue lenses to do the trick. They're handy for quite a few reasons if you know what to look for on youtube and elsewhere if you think about old cheesy "3D" movies of the black and white era to Virtual Boy stuff and more.
