xelement5x | 119
Surprised no one has made a post about this game yet, especially the resident Halloween games guy. It was originally released as a PS Store exclusive, then pulled. Eventually it surfaced as part of another Limited Rare Games release. They touted it as a cursed game that required FBI intervention and exorcism before it could be released, but there are a select few copies of the "original version" (variant cover) that are cursed and almost burned down their warehouse. Those cursed items were sent to WATA for grading and slabbing. They did their typical release where nothing worked on the website and it went down due to too much traffic, they eventually got it sold and started shipping. But, they randomly selected orders where people got the graded cursed versions instead, and shipped them out at no additional cost (Personally I wonder about how random it is because larger a number of high profile Twitter accounts seem to get them, though to be fair there were some of smaller audience accounts too) Supposedly there were only 1000 copies made but I'm skeptical of that number and they haven't said anything about that. There are plenty of copies up on ebay right now as well at a smaller markup, original sale price was like $40 plus shipping. Full thread:
xelement5x | 119
Quick follow up that even WATA seemed to get in on the cursed angle and made their own Twitter post about it. Quote Limited Rare Games releases, well, very limited and rare games. This summer we ventured on a collab to encapsulate and serialize their next release of a game that was allegedly discovered on a PS4 at an estate sale—Reydllom. Unfortunately, this game is extremely dangerous and required the help of the FBI’s Paranormal Games Unit and a Vatican software exorcist to release safe versions of the game. There are 60 original cursed copies, and some were damaged in a warehouse fire. These games have been sealed by WATA for public safety reasons. These are serialized in the exception field of our labels as Limited Rare Games Variant Cover 1-48 and Cursed Limited Rare Games Variant Cover 1-12. https://x.com/TheWataGames/status/1831727864703807639

GPX | 1,415
How do I apply for the gig of Vatican software exorcist? Also, how would you know if a game is cursed or if it’s an uncursed version that can cause a seizure?
spacepup | 2,488 Administrator ·
The entire thing just screams cringey manufactured scarcity and demand which I find very undesirable, but it works every time. Even more intentionally obvious this time around compared to before.

xelement5x | 119
Oh I agree, and they totally hype up the FOMO angle. But, what I can say for them is they only sell what they've got made and in stock, from purchase to arrival was like less than 2 weeks. With Limited Run Games you can normally conceive and have a child before the game you ordered actually arrives at your door.
