Reed Rothchild | 9,968 Editorials Team ·
@Brickman @Gloves @fox Obviously this is the group of four big, loud egomaniacs, so coming to a consensus is going to be a challenge, but let's give it a shot... Reed Rothchild | 9,968 Editorials Team ·
I'll nominate Fathers Day (again, kinda) It's vile and disgusting, and well beyond any normal person's standards of good taste. But that shouldn't be a problem for this crew of degenerates.
fox | 1,777
I liked Mother’s Day haven’t seen Father’s Day yet How about I Saw The Tv Glow? It’s about two people who bond over watching a surreal 90s show which is a cross between Buffy/Pete&Pete/Are You Afraid Of The Dark/Goosebumps. It’s on max. Brickman | 4,215
Great group! We could probably just go back and forth with the four of us alone What's our team name? I think this particular group will probably have seen my nomination, but possibly the wider B Grade movie group hasn't, so I'm going to nominate Sweet Home. For those who aren't aware, this is a movie that was made alongside the game for the Famicom by Capcom. It later was the inspiration for Biohazard/Resident Evil. It's a little cheesy with a typical crazy Japanese Horror movie plot. It's well acted and I love the effects. Movie starts at 1min mark.

Vestron video collection have a great blu ray release of this. The documentary on how it was made is really interesting.
Brickman | 4,215
Looks like us nerds are already organised with our picks, now we just have to battle it out to give our overall group pick. Does the rule that we have to be able to stream it for free still apply? Because that might knock out some. Im most interested in I saw the TV glow or Father’s Day so it will probably be between those two for me.
Reed Rothchild | 9,968 Editorials Team ·
I'll vote Glow since it's the only one I haven't seen, even if it will cost a month's sub Plus it has the kid from The Quarry @Gloves
Gloves | 12,284 Administrator ·
I personally might suggest we prioritize the movie we all think will be the best experience for the whole, rather than what we haven't seen ourselves. I've seen Sweet Home and Chopping Mall of these, and I'd prefer Chopping Mall of those two personally. I think we as a group are well suited to saying "hey everyone else, watch THIS!" with a high level of confidence.

Well I selfishly always think the movie "I" nominate will be the most fun pick from the group - that's why I nominate it. Sweet Home is fun, but kinda niche. Guys like Silver won't enjoy it. And Fathers Day is so depraved that I'm guessing at least several people won't finish it. Chopping Mall is fun, but guys like PII and tabonga seem to like older stuff. Whereas Glow is probably something none of us have seen, and as an A24 film should have a lot of upside.

Brickman | 4,215
Hmmm Gloves point had heart but Reed’s football in the groin had football in the groin. I vote for Fox’s pick, I saw the TV glow. But I do think the group will enjoy chopping mall so they should watch it or I wouldn’t be against making that our next months pick. We won’t be able to pick a movie everyone enjoys all the time but I think the majority will enjoy chopping mall. Thank you have a nice day! Murray | 2,490
I'm not a horror genre fan, but I'm curious. Last night, I took a leap of faith and watched “In a Violent Nature.” I thought, hell, a new horror flick. It should be Good! I wasn't impressed. Didn't Jason already do that stuff in the 80s? Seriously no story. Geralds game was better. Give me characters to care about. Why didn't they make a film based on the Girl who loved Tom Gordan instead? As someone new to the genre, what is the quintessential horror movie I should watch (other than The Exorcist)? I'm asking this group because I respect the four loud egomaniac opinions here. Should I dip a toe into the Terrifier series? Edited September 30 by Murray Handsome Murray’s rants.

Just know it's the splatteriest shit ever committed to film

Should I dip a toe into the Terrifier series? Depends what you’re looking for in a horror. Are you more into slashers or do you like gore? I think Reed’s list would have most stuff covered. 3 hours ago, Reed Rothchild said: Poll added @fox @Brickman @Gloves I confess that I ended up watching I saw the tv glow and found it to be very average to below average. It also has a very misleading trailer because it’s not a supernatural horror at all, it’s a drama film! I definitely would have been annoyed if I paid to see this at the movies. I have further thoughts on it because it does have some positives but I won’t spoil it so others can go in blind. With all that said, I’ll be voting chopping mall. 1

It should be Good! I wasn't impressed. Didn't Jason already do that stuff in the 80s? Seriously no story. It was completely derivative of F13th. The only thing it really had going for it was the cinematography that stayed with the killer POV the whole time. While that gave it a more artsy look, it also robbed it of any suspense and made the victims even less relatable than a usual slasher. 2 hours ago, Murray said: Should I dip a toe into the Terrifier series? This one is for sickos only. I just watched Terrifier 2 the other day. There's not much plot. Its just the most gruesome and sadistic kills ever put on film. It accomplishes what it set out to do very well. If that's what you're looking for, then it will deliver.
