SilverspoonGaming | 357
Its a sad time in the gaming world, as they have been publishing their magazine since 1991. The shitty part is they deleted all of their website, social media, everything, which is super fucked up. Whos to blame for taking away part of gaming history from everybody? Gamestop as a whole, or a certain big wig within their corporation? They should be ridiculed to death by all of us for ripping the history away from everyone. https://www.theverge.com/2024/8/2/24212016/game-informer-shutting-down-layoffs-gamestop
Kguillemette | 1,630
Only ever read it because it was free with a GameStop membership back in the mid 00s. Never cared to read the online version. Was "eh" then imo. Unfortunately it is no big loss for me.
The Count | 600
The earlier stuff, say pre 2002 was gold. I knew and worked with many of the writers as they were based in my hometown at the time. Great bunch of friendly, smart, and like minded folks that would fit in around here in a heartbeat. Sorry to see it go, but sadly another death knell of printed media.
SilverspoonGaming | 357
I never used the website a single time, but now that its history it would have been cool to refer back to. I guess theres always the internet archives saving our ass as usual.
Doctornick | 421
I still subscribed just to see upcoming modern stuff. I've never used the website/digital version either. I'm sad to see it go, but nothing Gamestop does will surprise me anymore.
G-type | 2,832
my sister's partner gave me a stack of old Game Informers. I never really read them much, but I liked the cover artwork.
