I figured out the cause of a glitch in original Half-Life

There's a big fan in Blast Pit that's supposed to create wind to blow you to the ceiling. I've been playing through the original game on Steam and I got a glitch where I just dropped down instead. I spent some time playing around with this and turns out it's because of a glitched save. There are two buttons for turning the fan on and off. If you turn the fan off and save before it stops moving and then load that save, the game gets in a confused state so that there's wind when the fan is off and none when it is on. You'll now be able to jump into the turned off fan and fly into the ceiling. In fact you can hear the wind blowing when it is off. Weird.
