It is time for BUBBLE BOBBLE!!! The most adorable dragons ever will take you into an arcading adventure!

The rules are very simple:

  • Play 1 player mode.
  • Play till you reach level 11 or die the first time
  • If you get teleported to a stage after level 11, your run ends and you are considered as being at level 11 with your current score
  • Highest progress wins with highest score as a tie breaker
  • Genre: Arcade

May the dragonest dragon win!

The contest ends Sunday, 09/22/24 at 8 PM EST time.  No screenshots by hitting "print screen" on a computer will be allowed.  You must take a picture of your computer monitor.  There may be instances where this will be acceptable, but it will be at the discretion of myself and the contest organizers.  Also, the use of turbo controllers is forbidden, as well as any cheat codes, Game Genies, slow motion functions, or save states if playing on an emulator.  Also, we will only be using NTSC systems for the contests.  The use of PAL systems will NOT be allowed.  Good luck everyone and have fun.

@BeaIank @guillavoie you can manipulate item drops if you don’t power cycle between games.

Do you think it is a big problem?

What I would forbid is to use save states to start at your perfect timing every game without having to 'set it up' every time. Thoughts?

Don't see much of a problem with that, specially with so few scores posted, it being so late in the game 2 weeks time span and it being far less competitive than years before.
So I wouldn't put such rule for this game except it was being used as a tournament game. And this year we aren't even hosting one. We will be doing a special event instead.

So it is all fine. Don't think anyone will try hard like that this time. 🙂

I just noticed because I played until a game over and got a really nice round of item drops (candys on stage 1 and 2 the book in an early stage….) I think it’s a good idea to not allow a save state as a reset in order to prevent a nice setup for every run.

Ok I’m gonna set it up so I get a bunch of candy and a book drop early on 😁

just kidding. But just something to keep in mind if using for a competitive week.
