trj22487 | 350
Yesterday at work a guy I know was mocking somebody else and he turned to me and said, "Aww, he's just an ol' fuddy duddy!" and I'm instantly thinking to myself.....why do I know that exact phrase? Where specifically have I heard it? I've tried thinking of videogames or cartoons, the closest I could think of is maybe the Simpsons used it in reference to Mr Burns, but for some reason I feel like there is a videogame out there that used this phrase? Was it Pokemon? Anyone have any idea?

B.A. | 1,141
I know Huey, Dewey and Louie called Uncle Scrooge an old fuddy duddy in Duck Tales. I remember asking my mom what the heck was a fuddy duddy?

Hammerfestus | 4,100
Pretty sure they used it in merrie melodies/loony toons era. What BA said also sounds right.

I am pretty sure Relm says it to either Shadow or Strago (I think Strago). Edit: oh just saw the pictures now haha, shitty work computer. Cheers. RH | 5,197
Is this moving to a question of "is this even a phrase", because it definitely is. I can't say I use it all the time, but a "fuddy duddy" is definitely a thing. Basically, it's like being a "stick in the mud" because you're old.
