Rules: - Photos are not required, but are highly encouraged, especially for less common games. - You must begin and finish the game in 2023. - No cheats and no Gameshark codes. - Saving/continues/passwords are ok, as long as you didn't look up the passwords and the whole game was started and finished in 2022. - Emulators are accepted but don't use them for any unfair advantages over original hardware. - Virtual Console is fine; no 3DS ports or remakes. - You may "soft" claim games that you plan to play during the year, (see the Claim Sheet below) but there are no "hard dibs" rules in effect and the first person to beat a game gets the credit, claimed or not. - Each game is worth 1 point, plus a half point for each year it wasn't beaten on NA/VGS since 2012. Requirements - 100% not required - Sports games: generally "win the tournament/championship" is the requirement. If a game lets you skip the season and go straight to playoffs, this is allowed. - Traditionally for the N64 thread, credits are the main indication that a game is beaten; exceptions are subjectively agreed upon for easier games. We typically strive for "any%" completion. - I haven't personally played all of these games; feel free to correct or challenge any requirement. Hopefully I can play a mission, beat an easy game, play a mission, beat an easy game. I hope to be done with Terran today and Zerg tomorrow, but we shall see how that goes. I am actually surprised at the control setup. You can hit R to select all the fighting units on the screen, which is very helpful instead of dragging and selecting . I am actually quite surprised at how it handles! Not as painful as I would have thought! I was still disappointed. Like, I don't know if something went wrong with the emulation on NSO or what, but the controls are fucked. Inputs get eaten all the time, and precise movement is impossible. It's actually shockingly bad for a first party Nintendo game. And the whole "play a handful of levels" for each playthrough? Blah. What incentive is there to go back and try and get to them all when none of them are super notable? And the clock tower and under water sections? Gross. Still, it did look nice at least... I mean you can, but i heard that banjo is fun, and i know mischief makers is, so migh be wise to add them towards the top otherwise others will knock them off. Definitely looking forward to knocking some stuff out.
